  1. As annoyed as I am at Isak for the way he has and is going about this, the club need to foot A LOT of the blame for this. Absolutely horrific transfer window Stalling on Isak's new contract and not getting it sorted Bidding for Ekitike and Liverpool land him Liverpool now looking likely to have him AND Isak There needs to be some very serious questions asked behind the scenes, and I am including Howe in that. We look absolutely Championship in the way we have been in the transfer market in recent windows and for all the noise about progression, a project, more trophies, etc... our actions really, really do not match that. I just feel this outgoing transfer alone, could see us drop a few places, even more so when the likes of Villa, Palace, Bournemouth, Brighton all seem to be improving all the time.
  2. Whether Eddie has decided it makes sense to leave Isak at home given what is going on, or whether Isak has kind of refused to travel, it stinks. Eddie wouldn't have done that willingly, and it does make me feel a bit differently towards Isak. The timing is just horrific. As if our transfer window wasn't bad enough as it is, we now have this to deal with at such a late stage. It's a crap situation and we're right in the mire now.
  3. Get the sentiment but other clubs around us have progressed and got stronger, a lot stronger since 2022. We really need to sort stuff out behind the scenes as otherwise we will be looking up at the likes of Villa, Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace, if we aren't careful.
  4. When I take my own emotions out of it and look at it from all sides, you can't really blame him. We talk a good game in wanting to progress and win more trophies, but what signals do players like Isak get currently? We can't land a transfer, we spend ages talking to players and agents, but land chuff all. Maybe he does want to play for a club that shows ambition, can land major trophies and can compete at the very top.
  5. Great, thanks Aleks! Thanks for how his contract negotiation has been handled. What a chuffin mess. Horrific timing too.
  6. The irony is Andy, that given the way our recruitment and transfer dealing ability status currently seems to be, this is exactly how I expect it to pan out. Confidence around this sort of thing is plummeting fast for me unfortunately.
  7. It is an absolute joke this. Liverpool sniffing around Gordon a while back which ruffled a few feathers and obviously caused a bit of trouble for us, and now Isak. I did expect Isak to be a bit more invested for us, if that's the word to use. It would have been good for him to at least make some noises about he is happy here and not looking to move, but something feels really off which isn't good. I really, really do not know who we would replace him with if we sold him, genuinely not exited by any potential replacements. This summer window has been an absolute shambles from start to finish. SHOULD have been a key, key window for us given we are back in the CL but it's been so poor.
  8. Not when he would have played here, and sat on the bench at Chelsea!
  9. Just seen something on FB which states Isak wants £300k per week to stay at Newcastle. Probably absolute rubbish mind.
  10. Hard to disagree with any of that. Add it to the reasons why this window should have/should represent a massive opportunity as we head towards next season. Currently, it's a mess and pretty much all signs are pointing to that.
  11. 95 million? Yeh no thanks! Thanks for the double pie Ekitike!
  12. I was just wondering how much input, control, etc... Andy Howe and Nickson have regarding the recruitment process in relation to Eddie, and how this is working within the myriad of changes we have had with Ashworth, Mitchell, etc... I know very little about behind the scenes at the club, but I think it's pretty apparent that something isn't really working when it comes to recruitment, agreeing deals, and I am just wondering what the blockers and stumbling blocks are.
  13. At what point do we consider Elmohamady
  14. Yup! Exactly how I feel, which seems like 1 step forward, potentially 2 back.
  15. I'm pretty sure I said something similar for the last couple of windows, and I know as fans we ride the emotional rollercoaster but it kind of deflates the excitement and almost feels like we may be missing the chance to kick on, especially with CL football next season. Obviously there is still time in the transfer window but given Howe wanted things done early in the window, it feels like conflicting messages and missing out on players we have pursued fairly intensely, doesn't feel great.

    Yoane Wissa

    Yoane-av to be kidding me!
  17. Ekitike or his agent have messed us about for a second time. It's madness. Happy the club have left it and walked away, absolute joke from Ekitike and his entourage.
  18. Just move on, he seems to have a lot of potential, but losing out for a second time in a transfer move for him is a kick in the grapefruits.
  19. I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry if Ekitike pies us again in a possible transfer
  20. Tell them Isak is available Wrap the deal up for Ekitike Isak no longer available Simple!
  21. He's ripped, but he isn't exactly carrying a lot of lean muscle, it's much more difficult being that low in terms of bodyfat if you hold a lot more lean mass.
