  1. Not a character I would want in my team. Would probably make good friends with Ranger though. Drenthe has been shafted by every team he's played for since leaving Feyenoord. Madrid treat him like s***, Hercules didn't even pay him at one point despite him being a standout performer. I think with our group he'd settle in and much like Ben Arfa would give back as much as the fans gave. He's probably been treated like shit for a reason mind. Arriving a week late from vacation doesn't help your situation like. Think he's also a bit of a party boy. Bit too much. The less players with difficult personalities, the better.

I'd play both. in place of who? Obertan and Best? I don't think we could risk putting two players who have been out for so long and lacking match fitness into a league game, even the likes of Wigan are a different level to playing Forest in a cup game. Yes. Marveaux got through 120 minutes of football against Nottingham. He'll be fine. Ben Arfa needs games to settle, and Wigan will be perfect for him. IMO not much of a risk.

I take it by that post that you think they should play on Saturday? Can i ask why you would want to throw in 2 players who have barely played a competitive game in a year into a team that is playing really well and unbeaten? At one point Ben Arfa has to come in any way. He is top class. Wigan will be perfect for him, and if Pardew and Ben Arfa himself thinks he's ready - he is. Really not a fan of Obertan, and I think it's time to give the better player (yes, Marveaux) the chance to prove himself.

Hopefully a sign that both will play(/start) against Wigan.

  6. If it's not Aston Villa, then surely it's Sunderland and Short. Sad and funny at the same time.
  7. He didn't do anything of note. That's the problem. He has speed, but just refuse to use it effectively. There's no reason this showing should keep him in the team. Especially not when you look at the alternatives.
  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/15336398.stm Several foreign-owned Premier League clubs want to scrap relegation, according to League Managers Association chief Richard Bevan. If more clubs are sold to foreigner investors, they may have enough votes to force through the change. But Bevan hopes that a government-led inquiry can help prevent the proposal. Fucking hell.

Comes with time. People are making way too much out of his little cameo in a tight, fast game, after being one year out.
  10. Always going to be the case. Taarabt is a twat and deserves everything he gets.
  11. There have been quite a few outstanding performers, Krul,Colo,Raylor,Cabaye,Ba to name a few,but your point would be very difficult to argue against. Raylor He's coped. Very much helped by two terrific CB's and Jonás.
  12. Time to make way for Marveaux or Ben Arfa.

Very much this. Be it his reactions or performance. Calm down - he will be top notch.
  14. Always been a defender of him. Not because I think he's great, but because I think the criticism has been a bit over the top. Not anymore.
  15. Ben Arfa on for Best and Marveaux in for Obertan. Very winnable game.
  16. As expected, but Løvenkrands and Shola on the bench. Surely time to move on from those two now.

On Tavernier today- [He played] very well. Defensively excellent, often snuffing out danger, and was keen going forward.
  20. JustFootball Just Football Seems Newcastle are still in hunt for a new striker. A €9million bid for Modibo Maiga landed on Sochaux's desk midweek, report LePays #nufc
