Seen on twitter he was only on the bench anyways yesterday but even so, would still have fancied him to come and possibly grab one. At least not a serious injury.
-
Have we got a Bale injury update in this thread? What's the damage?

It is still very good when it gets going, Ben Arfa's goal against Fulham onwards the atmosphere was excellent. I just feel it shouldn't really take somethign special to wake the crowd up, from the moment the first whistle is blown, the crowd should be fully behind the players on show, given them full support but we aren't. I think Ashley is largely to blame for this as well mind you for splitting up the singing section in level 7 in favour for the family enclosure, the away fans used to pick the home crowd up at times but now you just forget that they are actually there.

Yep that pass deservedly got a lot of groans and rightly so because that was abysmal, someone played it into his feet and his 5 yard pass to Anita lobbed over his head and out for a throw. Was such a simple pass to make, was costly but a throw in just inside your own half shouldn’t lead to their equaliser to be fair.

Utter. f***ing. Bullshit. 'Get behind the team' man. f***ing do one man. Laughable. What's laughable? It's the worst atmosphere i've seen at SJP since i started my season ticket 11 year ago. We are lucky to get the whole stadium standing up once for a simple chant like 'stand up if you love the toon', we sprout a couple of regular chants like 'toon toon black and white army' and 'newcastle newcastle newcastle...' and a couple of the fan fave chants like 'hatem ben arfa' and that's it. Literally that's all we do for 90 minutes. If people honestly believe they think the sjp atmosphere is good these days then i'm lost for words because it's atrocious, as bad as the football on show is, our support matches it, like i said nothing against numbers we are still by far one of the best fans in the country for this but in terms of vocal home support we are non-existent. At least we show ourselves in better light away from home but we have always done that but our home support has never been so dull. The point is that the crowd is not the issue at all and if you think not 'getting behind the lads' is the reason and not the reaction to the absolutely s*** that we fork out hundreds of pounds out for the absolute misery of witnessing, then you're a fool. Have a look through my posts, i never once claimed our poor results was due to fans reaction. I simply stated during a post that the atmosphere is awful, and it is. 3-2 down against Hull every misplaced pass was met with moans and groans, everytime Ben Arfa lost possession, groans got louder, this mixed in with people standing up yelling abuse at Pardew, usually Jonas/Shola are on the pitch so they receive a lot of abuse but they escaped it on Saturday. It's a disgrace, that's all im saying. It shouldn't be like that. You're right, it is a disgrace, but a crowd that large shouldn't be put in a position where it has to collectively witness such crap. A season ticket for NUFC has essentially been a very expensive subscription to unbridled misery for the last year and a bit. Well that was all my point was in the first place and everyone lynched me for it. Never said we are to blame for results, simply said it's getting worse and worse and it's a joke.

Sorry we should just keep on board with Allardyce when he said he knew if he stopped Newcastle first 20 minutes, the crowd will turn against them. He’s not wrong either, we are awful for it, up there with the worst in the league, we turn up numbers which is great but we don’t turn up and get behind the team as well as we could or should.

It's difficult to tell exactly without seeing how other managers would react to having precisely these players, but I would probably only say Di Canio (before last night) and possibly, possibly Mark Hughes. Don't think it's more the players at his disposal, more how many managers in the league would put up with what is above him and just work with it rather than against it.
-
Aye it's a joke. Our fans seem to be getting worse and worse. What do you expect man? Some chanting maybe? A new original song for Remy? Some positivity around the stadium after finally getting an early goal?
-
Were you there, Ian? Well even if he wasn't i was. Soon as that volley went in random people standing up effin n blinding at Pardew.

No we have let ourselves down at home, 4 points against West Ham, Fulham, Hull, is 3 points short imo. Teams come to SJP now knowing points are up for grabs, teams used to fear coming here, not anymore. The crowd haven't helped matters like, atmosphere is shocking. However i do think we pretty much whereabouts i thought we would be after first 5 games so i'm not getting down about things, just thought Saturday was bitterly disappointing and such a shame we never managed to make it 3 wins on the trot because that would really have got some good momentum going and a lot of this negativity and Pardew out talk squashed for time being.
-
I really do understand the concerns of looking back at last season and seeing the similarities but when you look at the bad things like slipping up against West Ham same as last season, you just rule out the 'surprise' wins against likes of Villa simply because we beat them last season. Villa had been looking good prior to us than backed it up against Norwich. This league is starting to look like where most sides can give each other a game and it's getting tighter and tighter. No time for panicking here, this side can get it right, it's still gelling together really, they would have learnt a lot from the Hull game, and hopefully we can put it right next Monday and give a better account of things. It's a game at a time and we need to bounce back.
-
On paper yes but football does work as simple as well they are shit, we will win. Look at the results of this season, not just us but the premier league as a whole, been a lot of 'home bankers' lets say that have failed to deliver. We aren't the only ones who have slipped up here. Majority of teams have let points slip when 3 points seem guaranteed before
-
Canny good going without a shot on target like. It was a poor start, i fully expected Ben Arfa to tear Joey O'brien to shreds, it never quite worked out as well as that. Was similar situation for Fulham until we introduced Cabaye/Remy/Gouffran, we managed to grab the win and show some positive stuff, backed that sign up at Villa then threw that hard work away on Saturday.
-
Man City - L West Ham - W Fulham - D Villa - L Hull - W I expected that and we have accumalated the same points so this being a big reason why i'm not doom and gloom Pardew out just yet and although the standard of football on a whole hasn't been great we still have showed signs of it coming together in games and this side is very much work in progress, it will only get stronger in time.

Inochi saving me a job today. Cheers mate.

I can see why it might be an idea to bring in Taylor just to give us some more aerial cover for set pieces though. I reckon Pardew might well go back to Yanga at RB just for that reason. I haven't even seen Taylor as this dominant force aerially though? Half the time he's just pulling shirts and trying to look like he's not fouling than actually bossing a CF in the air. We don't actaully have a CB who is dominant in this area and that's a problem. Of what we have, MYM/Colo is a class above any other.
-
It's not even like we were solid from crosses/set pieces with Taylor at the back. Can't believe soon as things turn a bit sour people are calling for Taylor to return already. Bloke is a liability. I wouldn't break up MYM/Colo, if everyone wants debuchy out so badly, go Santon right back and Dummet left back. MYM is nowhere near as good as a fb and certainly doesn’t deserve dropped. Personally i'd stick with the same side except maybe Gouffran in for Cisse but don't think it's time for major reshuffling just yet, see how we fair against Everton, the side might prefer the counter football it was able to execute at Villa away from home.

FYP. Yanga out, weak as p*ss in this league, get the mighty geordie lad back in the heart of our defence for more passion and commitment and let him rally the troops, just what we need Neesy, Yanga out, Taylor in! If you actually read my posts, I'm scathing about Taylor and don't rate him in general but against Everton we are going to need someone good in the air against Jelavic. Jellyfish? Hardly this huge aerial threat is he to be fair?

Was wondering who would be the first to hoy this shit out there, well played neesy.

Debuchy nowhere to be seen for the first, Colo nowhere to be seen for the second, HBA inability to defend for the third, individual errors cost us goals but Pardew still needs to take responsibility for the fact we lacked any sort cohesion in our play, how we failed to produce any sort of comeback when behind, he had perfect start, he was leading at half time, yet we still couldn't get 3 points. Players were to blame and Pardew needs to take the responsibility as manager to why these players underperformed on the day. Was painful to watch Ben Arfa on Saturday, just wasn't the same feeling you usually get with him.
-
We were nearly through to make it 2-0 and they broke and scored, we actually cleared the danger but when they came back at us we were wide open (anyone care to enlighten me where the fuck Debuchy was as i ain't seen highlights yet). We restored the lead, went into half time still thinking we had more to offer in this game and capable of scoring another goal or two. Then they come out and score from a free kick within minutes, another awful piece of marking. We never seemed to get into our stride second half and everything was forced. Then Ben Arfa's piss poor attempt of tracking back resulting in their player having a 10 yard radius to do what the fuck he wanted and what he wanted was to score an absolute peach of a volley, fair play to him, great finish. However after that we still had time to get ourselves back in the game but we were just a mess and hardly threatened bar Remy's chance. The group as a whole now needs to come together and show they can get this right, can't rely on one or two players having good games and getting us 3 points, need to start working harder as a team.
