Best way to see if people really believe we are so shit.

4/1 is a cracking price, i'd snap that up with anyone. People are overrating Swansea because they are pleasing on the eye. The standard of players aren’t much.
-
Hang on here, is someone offering 4/1 for Newcastle to finish above Swansea? Am i seeing this correctly or have i misread a post somewhere?

Boro once won this mickey mouse cup though, hardly FA cup wonders, saying that i won't begrudge winning it like but i'm never really emotionally bothered when we exit this cup like i am when we bomb out of FA. I don’t think winning the league cup should entitle Europe, imo. Before i get slated for this opinion i know a lot of people feel strongly about going for all cups as it's still a trophy and i understand that, i've just never had enough emotion for this cup to care really. I think a high league position should entitle Europe over winning the league cup.

People asking for him to be banned, fekin hell. Panic stations... we've got a poster who believes a 5 point gap bridge can be defied!

Thing is you're right. I'm fairly sure nearly everyone would agree with this. Difference is people think because Pardew is shite that means we will do shite, when that's not necessarily the case. We still have a good chance of doing well under him not because he's a good manager but because we have a talented bunch of players at our club who a lot of clubs would be lucky to have.
-
Still not convinced Swansea are this special side everyone thinks, Everton have been patchy so far as well, think us and Everton could be the ones though. You've watched Swansea right? It's not a new thing, been a great side to watch for a while. Also Everton are the only unbeaten side this season. Yeah Swansea are pleasing on the eye, so were Wigan. Never doubted the way Swansea play their football. I'm just confident that our calibre of players will prove a point this season that they aren't a relegation battling bunch and are actually talented enough to compete high up this league. Everton are unbeaten, you're right, still don't fear them next Monday, Southampton would have been saying the same with Liverpool, league is wide open this year, results have been unpredictable for the majority, we just need to make sure we stick with it and keep picking up the points regardless of how they come to us.
-
Hardly mental, just genuinely believe that we have the better team, fair enough not the manager. Everton have hardly been anything to fear so far this season, no reason to go there next Monday fearing the worst, we can compete.

A fast-paced brand of front-foot football.. or something to that effect...what does that even mean.. Wasn't this when we finished 5th he said that? Definitely not. Hardly ever front foot during that season. Worked though regardless of the brand name. Not working anymore though. The machine broke down, salesman got given new improved tools but cannot fix it. We shall see. (Top 8 lunchy, top 8 )

Does it need a brand name like?

Still gelling together after 3 years Its gonna be World War III by the time Pardew figures out how to construct a slick passing side.. 3 years together? You serious or just a complete tard? Debuchy MYM Sissoko Remy have only been playing Prem league football for 6 month, one of which has only just came in to the side. Anita has just started to find his feet in a new system, the team as a whole has only really played two matches together, this isn't a settled side by any means of the imagination. We've been trying to implement a new playing style in a formation that was successful in the past. And how long has Pardew been here you absolute spackard New players conform to the team and the managers visions - and if they dont well then they have failed to make the jump to the PL. Going on the fourth season now with no style or identity - Gelling my arse. So new players should just come into a side and blend straight in without being given time to adapt. Are you one of these where it's only a game of football so if you can play well in France/Spain/Germany or wherever you come from, you can play just as well in England straight away? Ridiculous, give players time ffs. Not all come in and adapt straight away, some do, some don’t. Fact of the matter is, we are trying out a new style of football after the failings of last season, at least it’s something different regardless if our games have been hit and miss so far.

We are in a sort of transition period if you like this season, we are trying something new, just need to stick with it, the side is still gelling together, we need to start making sure we are getting Ben Arfa/Remy in the right areas in order for them to create. Ben Arfa had a stinker on Sat, these things can happen. I'm sure we will have learnt a lot from that defeat on Saturday and looked at areas where we need to improve and hopefully we will be a lot tighter against everton and concentration levels of a higher order. It’s not a time now to be making drastic changes to the side or management.

By the way i'm not saying we didn't deserve to finish where we did last season, because we did. Your finishing position over the course of 38 games shows what kind of season you had, no hiding away from that. What i'm saying is that teams can have bad seasons but that doesn't necessarily mean they are a bad team, they can bounce back up the table the year after which i believe we will. Villa will probably be thinking similar about last season, Everton have flirted with the relegation a couple of times in the past, bigger sides have struggled for top 4 when they should be challenging for the title then bounced back year after to give a better account. Teams can have a bad season but a good team will always respond, now it's up to us to respond.

I don't believe that was truley us. Everything that could have went wrong last season, did. Was problem after problem and Pardew didn't have the experience or know how to stop it or turn it around. With the side currently fit though and players showing us glimpses of their talent, i think he can get this right. Understand people will say i'm being negative about not trusting Ashley in appointing a good manager, but that's just the way i feel. We all have different opinions on these things. I'd rather stick with Pardew than have Kinnear come in, others will think differently because it can't get any worse than this some believe. For me though, it's one good season, one bad season and now this is really judgement time for him and he's currently and the points tally i predicted which i'm content with but now the bigger challenge for him lies ahead with tough fixtures in the pipeline and i look forward to see how we respond to them. What do you mean "it wasn't truly us"? You cant make excuses for how bad last season was, none that are truly explainable. Even with the factors you've suggested we should have been comfortably mid table imo I just don't feel like we give a true account of what we are capable of last season. There were factors for this which i'm not going into because that dragged on all summer, but i felt this season we would show ourselves in much better light. Certainly no relegation scraps again.
-
I feel like this, if Pardew starts to fail this season, i'm out like, as it happens he hasn't done that yet and i don't predict he will.

I can't deny during them times i was probably exactly the same as Wullie. I've changed my perception under this regime well Pardew in particular, i'm sick of wanting managers out for that to happen only to be replaced with an equal amount of shit. For example I always thought Hughton was doing a decent enough job but I though we were better than him and should get rid of him and improve the calibre of manager…we got Pardew ffs! Decided it was time just for once to give the manager time in the job to prove his worth rather than wanting him out from the start or when things go badly like i had done in the past. If i knew we would be replacing Pardew with someone superior i would be all for it, however i just don't trust this lot anymore, can't be arsed for us to start all over again with someone like Kinnear, just couldn't face the misery of the appointment, then i would be all doom and gloom. So for now i'm given Pardew the benefit of the doubt in which the club has given him stability to a certain extent and hope he can turn it back around this season but i do actaully believe he can with the players at his disposal rather then the fact i believe he's a good manager.

Seen on twitter he was only on the bench anyways yesterday but even so, would still have fancied him to come and possibly grab one. At least not a serious injury. BBC had him in the starting 11. Think they said something about a late change to the starting 11 or something when he pulled out. Checking over the tweet i read, think you're right, read it like Bale was on bench but think tweet meant Isco.

Come 3 oclock Saturday i'm not thinking 'I wish Ashley would show ambition' though. I'm thinking about getting behind the players who are currently fighting to get 3 points for our team. Outside of the ground is more an area for questioning ambition, not inside.

See, now you're back on to saying what the crowd should be doing again. I take it back, you're talking s**** mate. Ehhhhhh I've said we don't impact results and we aren't to blame but that's not an excuse just to turn up and create a negative atmosphere which is a disgrace? You agreed to that. Away days don't blame Pards' dross, we still create an excellent atmosphere on that front, so why the SJP has turned into a dark cloud i don't know, but we need to get rid of it. You don't know why SJP has turned into a dark cloud? In terms of the away fans vs home fans you're talking about a difference in tens of thousands of people. Only thing i can point to is Ashley splitting the main singing section up, strawberry corner now tries to get other parts of the ground going but even they are falling on deaf ears. Think being beside the East stand massively affects that bunch though, might be a fancy view in the East Stant but they've been s*** year in year out, no excuse for them lot, they've rarely joined in regular chanting at any period. The whole stadium now is worse than it's ever been including the season we went down, the only thing we have actually got better at is the fact there hasn't been any negative Pardew chanting, we've actually improved in that aspect of things...strangely. Agree about the difference between home and away, was just making it clear Pardew’s dross football isn’t to blame why SJP has got worse, there’s been worse football on offer and had better atmosphere’s than now.
