Didn't say it was, I'm saying that no club is going to freeze a lad out when he's just come back from injury, if we did there'd be people on here on about how heartless we are. If we actually give him a new contract then I'll have a problem. If he's not going to play much of a part in the first team this season, it might be better to let him go to another club where he can regain his match fitness rather than 3 seasons of non-football in a row. And I'd argue we have shown plenty of heart in such a case. He might end up going elsewhere.in the end, that doesn't mean we should leave the lad without a squad number in the mean time.. Who is advocating that? Edit: Pretty sure he means he rather Raylor not be at this club. The poster at the top of this page? Raylor turns up at photo ops (with a squad number), otherwise he's nowhere near the squad. That's how I read it. Think you are reading too much into it. He responded to Raylor getting a squad number by saying that if we were a proper club he wouldn't be near apart from photo ops. Really not sure how its unreasonable to read that as a suggestion that he shouldn't be allowed to be any part of the squad.. Ehm... yeah... he didn't say we should heartlessly "leave the lad without a squad number in the mean time" though.

http://i.imgur.com/cYmhcEg.png His league record. Doesn't look that great. For those who had seen him play, is he more of a wing forward?

Deserves his thread by now considering the intense transfer talk. Hope he's not the only striker acquisition if he signs as we need a proven striker considering the options we have.

Pre-injury, he was already a limited player so I don't think it has anything to do with that.

Might be a committed player but he's clearly not good enough. With his two season's injury and his age, it would be hard to get back to even the limited usefulness he had. His expiring contract and the fall of Jonas from the first team could potentially spell the end of his time here. Could do well joining his ex-Geordie mates at former club Wigan.

  11. Still too early to say we have a remotely successful transfer window. I would look at our transfers at a whole, and not based on any individual signings. Our incomings, including Janmaat and possibly Riviere are covered by the Cabaye sale and impending Debuchy move, and there's plenty more money in the bank. If we fail to address the apparent deficiencies in our squad (proven striker or two, CB, another creative player to lessen our burden on Cabella), it would have been a lacking window nonetheless. There are simply no excuses with that pile of gold lying around. Then I will decide if I should jump in joy or have a little spring in my steps.

  13. Feyenoord turned down a lower offer from a top 4 PL club or the player turned down the offer?
  14. That was OK Doke (Oakie Dokie I assume) in the comments of an article. He's a funny guy that one. Where did he go? Haven't seen him around for ages.
  15. That's it. Caught onto what the club is about. Jitters.
  16. Is that Spanish for 'Give us respect'?

  18. They can have one from me. When we sign someone who no one knows much about, then he does well in the world cup I don't have a problem saying good job. Not saying he's crap but the WC is hardly the measure of a player. Let alone someone who didn't exactly awe with his performances in the tournament. But what I saw I liked. Looks decent defensively, good in the air, and offers genuine width going forward. So I am quite pleased that we got in their before other clubs, that's just my personal assessment, others might feel different. Maybe they've seen more of him than me, but I can only go off what I saw. He showed glimpses of what he could do but to say he's had a good tournament as an individual would be rewriting history.

  20. They seem more than capable of patting their own backs as Pardew cringingly demonstrated today, though in this instance popping out and picking up the Dutch right back seems more than adequate tbh. It is adequate and should be treated as such. After all we have been conditioned not to expect any signing even after selling our players. I don't think anyone should be expected to jump in joy cos we would have a decent replacement for one of our best players though.
  21. Why would Swansea sell him for almost nothing after a decent last season? Last year of his contract, maybe? Ah yes, you're right there.
  22. Replacing the outgoing Debuchy is the least we should do, and it would be criminal if we didn't. They aren't getting a pat on the back for this transfer.
  23. Or maybe Ashley got told that by going Dutch, we only need to pay half the price.
  24. Ooo, de Vrij's contract expires in 2015 too. Don't you support Feyenoord?
