Baring some spectacular losses affecting our already bad goal diff, we're safe if we win today and both Villa and Wigan lose. We win today, Villa and Wigan lose: NUFC P36 40 pts Villa P36 37 pts Wigan P35 32 pts If we lose the next 2 games, Villa and Wigan pick up wins: NUFC P38 40 pts Villa P37 40 pts Wigan P37 38 pts Villa vs Wigan in last game: Villa win: Villa 43 pts, Wigan 38 ® Draw: Villa 41 pts, Wigan 39 ® Wigan win: Villa 40 pts, Wigan 41 (safe) - the only uncertainty dependent on GD http://gurumia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Biswa-Ijtema-prayer-Akheri-monajat.jpg
  4. Flashscores will do a noise for goals and HT/FT. You need to add the match to "My Games" by ticking it. Cheers. Will be sweating every time I hear a beep.
  5. Is there a live score website that alerts you of updates by sound rather than flash? Find it a bother to be switching in-between tabs all match.

I read it in the context of the article. He has a point in the first part; we are not the most physical team around. Second part, I'm just rofl-ing atm.

Depends on whether they want to have a real go at winning the trophy. They will still qualify for the Europa league even if they don't win the final and choose to focus on PL survival with the mega TV deal at stake. Come on man, they're in the final of course they want to win it Sure they will try to win it. It's just a question of how much energy they are putting into it and at what risk/expense. If they choose to focus the lot on beating Man City in the middle of a 5 match run, they could win it, lose some momentum in the league, get relegated, lose out on the 50m+ next season and be contented with the European place they already have. It will not be as simple as going all out in the final imo.

  10. They didn't sign Ba due to injury concerns. Ben Arfa seem adamant on joining us; even if he didn't there are bigger clubs than Stoke after him. Did the guy get sacked for being unrealistic himself? Madness to come out in the open anyway.
  11. Shola has the movement of a corpse, he offers nothing and gives away far too many free kicks for stupid pointless fouls and is offside almost as often as Cisse. He has the life of a corpse too. His lack of fitness means he can't play more than 10, 20 mins a match, let alone regularly. Last season he had a role coming off the bench in the last 20 mins. This season he offers virtually nothing at all. We get it that he's playing in spite of his injuries/conditions but he's totally spent. He contributes nothing now, not even in a direct, hoof the ball to him game. He can do some canny flick ons once in a while from long balls. He's not even doing that now. Most of the time he's just falling over or fouling opposition players. The times we send him on during the last 20 mins of games, he has actually managed to worsen the situation for us.

  13. Get jotenko to do it. His might be lucky.

111 pages in a week. Impressive.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

The Luke Edwards article is believable at the very least and has potential to be disruptive to our preparations so you can understand why they issue an official rebuttal over it. The Ben Arfa story however has very little credence to it. An official statement on that just makes us look silly.
  16. Increase from 48m to 60m over 4 years.
  17. The article is talking about the 5 January signings. Of the 5, I can't see Haidara on as big a wage as the other 4. MYM is the highest paid at some 60,70k a week while Sissoko and Debuchy are probably on a decent wage as well. I imagine there will be no lack of takers should we go down, and the wage bill will be adjusted accordingly. Stupid article just trying to make the most of our relegation worries.

    Alan Pardew

I'm no fan of Pardew but that's ridiculous IMO. As long as he's here, the players need to be behind him. Anything else would be chaos, and the only ones to genuinely suffer are us lot. It's up to the board to replace him, not the players. Fully agree with that. If it comes down to Pardew losing the players and the board deciding to replace the manager, I hope there will also be a stern warning to the players regarding their lack of professionalism. The last thing we need is player power taking over, leading to long-lasting implications. Players choosing to turn up on matchday dependent on whether they like the manager, tactics etc will do us no good, especially when one nationality dominates in the dressing room. We should take the last 3 games as an indication who are the players putting the club above themselves and who's not. I rather ship out a player with self-interest regardless of how good he is.

    Alan Pardew

I take it as a PR show to get Cisse and Tiote to issue that statement and personally don't trust it's the whole truth behind the scene. If it can however shut the press up and lessen external pressure on the club and players I don't see much wrong in it. Pardew isn't going anywhere for the next 3 games at least, might as well make it as conducive as we can for them to ensure survival.

    Alan Pardew

What they say now means little or nothing. And if they could potentially make the situation worse, I rather no soundbites get through to the press. The players only need to prove themselves by getting the points needed for safety. Once that is done, the club can then get down to the issues of managerial change, player performances and professionalism, and lack of leadership when the chips are down. Anyone at the club trying to sabotage our survival during this crucial run-in with sub-par efforts should be held highly accountable at the end of it all.
  21. Misleading headline imo. He speaks of justifying his decision to join Liverpool rather than leaving Newcastle in the article, even if he was rightly slammed for having a dig at us in the past.
  22. Pretty much. 'f***, how do I get shot of all of this dross' Bosingwa on 60k a week, 2 years left and looks happy enough to do a Bogarde. Good luck trying to get rid of the likes of him, Tony. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queens_Park_Rangers_F.C.#Current_players Look at the size of that squad.
