Maybe Rafa is bringing Lejeune and Semedo in to compete with Clark and Lascelles, with plans to switch Mbemba to DR or DM, or to move him on? The new lads started out as DM anyway so they could be an option if Hayden is unavailable. Anyway, the window hasn't opened and we are already having progress with a few players. That's some improvement over the past and will give Rafa more preparation time to gel them into the team.

Clark, Lascelles, Semedo and that Lejeune in, with Hanley and Mbemba out? Rafa loves a tall CB and we know Hanley is on the way out, with Mbemba seeing little playing time last season.

Semedo, Abraham and that Lejeune would add fair height to our team.

The top 8 teams are more or less established in their own rights and barring a surprise or two, should remain where they are. After that, it's all up for grabs. Fwiw we finished 12th in our first season back following relegation last time round.

Don't see what's wrong with that. 12th is achievable with Rafa, the transfer budget and how average the lesser teams are. 17th would be a massive disappointment to us and Rafa. Don't see the need to belittle what we could do next season.
