If Anita passes his medical I'd love to see us play a system involving wing backs. Krul Taylor.....Colo Santon..................(New LB) Anita Cabaye........Tiote BenArfa Cisse........Ba Only problem would be that without any real wingers it would be essential to move Santon to the right to provide us with crosses and width. This system would also mean giving up on our pursuit of Debuchy and going for a natural left footed LB.

Having watched 4 games on a popular video website featuring Anita's every touch I can confidently say he isn't going to be a Tiote replacement. Their playing styles are very different. Anita plays the role I expected Cabaye to play last season, in that he gets himself space between the midfield and defence and makes sure theirs always a passing option in order to keep possession. Of course if we played Cabaye strictly in this role last season it would have hindered his attacking abilities, so I think Pardew expected him to do a bit of both which often resulted in Cabaye going missing in no mans land. Hopefully having a ball winning defensive midfielder (Tiote) and a defensive playmaker in Anita will give Cabaye more freedom in attack and will undoubtedly help us dominate possession more.

If memory serves me right, in Mike Ashleys infamous statement he said that we wouldn't spend big money on players over 26.

I'll be seriously disappointed if we spend anything more than ten million on andy Carroll. Take the massive fee liverpool paid in January out of the equation and what are you left with? A player who scored 11 prem goals in 19 appearances with a team that was built around his style of play. Since then he's done nothing to suggest that that run of form wasn't just a fluke or a purple patch. Andy carroll was never worth 35mill, Liverpool paid that amount gambling on his potential alone in which he hasn't come close to forfilling. I think we'd me much better off scouring europe for a striker, time and again it's been proved theirs no value in English transfers.

It's times like this that I miss the Freddy Shepard regime. No doubt if he was here right now he would be publicly announcing our intent of signing an over the hill player such as Kaka for an astronomical fee in an attempt to make a challenge for the premier league title. Only for it to blow up in his face Michael Owen style and riddle us in even more debt. I'd be over the moon if we signed Sakho. He's a lot like Ben Arfa and Santon in the respect that he's a former wonder kid that's out of favour at a big club. His value now is probably as low as it will ever be. If we signed him and get him playing to his potential in the premier league his value would triple.

He hardly got a chance at juventus, i think he only had 5 or 6 games. I'm not sure if he was injured or not, but we were after him before he went to Juventus and last January so our scouts obviously rate him.

As good a signing as he would be, theres nothing concrete in this article at all. That's true but I can't see why we wouldn't be in the running for his signature. Considering the fact that they want to sell and he wants to leave, not to mention the fact he's French. The omens are certainly in our favour. Also with the tax on high wages being 75% for high earners in France, we shouldn't have to much problems matching his wage demands. It really does beg belief just how deluded some of Sunderland's supporters are. Their squad is no where near to being equal to ours. Half of our players could arguably play for a champions league team: Krul, Cabaye, Tiote, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Ba, Coloccini maybe even Santon.
