I just wonder who's next in our list of targets. I have to admit I'm disappointed we've lost out on him. But on the bright side we could go for someone more suited to our favoured 433 formation . I'm thinking on the lines of a right footed Ben Arfa type...

So is the original source of this news from www,voetbal.tctubantia.nl? Because looking at the website it looks about as reliable as triblefootball.

How many players have signed that Cwarris has predicted so far? I'm sure he got one prediction spot and had a convincing story to go with it but then failed miserably with the prediction gervinho and Bernetta signing for us.
-
I've just checked google Holland again but sadly no updates in the Dutch press either. I was under the impression that if our representatives really met with theirs today their would have been some sort of leak in the press by now if a fee had been agreed.

Having managed to pry myself away from the computer for two hours I was praying for some developments upon my return. But I see nothings changed Will tomorrows news paper headlines/articles appear on news now around 12 oclock by any chance? It rings a bell that they did during the Ben Arfa saga but I'm not sure?
-
Seriously this must be the most tedious thread of all time. The worst thing is that I can't even ignore it, because every time someone replies theirs the tinniest chance it could be news on the De jong transfer.
-
Wouldn't it make more sense to play De Jong out wide and Cisse through the middle? Jesus, look at me getting picked on I personally think De Jong would be better through the centre as a target man or even playing deep behind Ba and Cisse, Judging by the clips of him on youtube he has good link up play. And I don't see what's wrong with Ben Arfa being in a midfield 3 especially when we're at home and expected to boss the game. Also Tiote would be there to help defend the left wing when Ben Arfa loses the ball.

Did anyone pick up on Lawrensons terrible joke during the Germany v Italy game yesterday? Camera pans in on female German Supporter crying. Commentator 1 says "look at that poor German supporter" Lawrenson replies "You don't know that, she might be rich!
-
Would that be legal, never heard of that sort of deal happening in the past. Douglas's agents would be royally screwed if a deal like this was struck.
-
Hope I'm not tempting fate but if we do sign De Jong can anyone see this being our formation when playing at home? Krul Simpson Taylor Coloccini Santon Cabaye Tiote BenArfa Cisse DeJong DembaBa As much as I love Ben Arfa cutting in from the right, I feel it would be much more of an advantage having him crossing with his strongest foot. Obviously De Jong would be the target man and mix things up getting headers on goal or headers down for Ba and Cisse to run onto.

Has anyone heard any more rumours on this transfer in the dutch press or even any twitter bullshit. Seriously I've been refreshing this page all morning and I feel like I'm losing the will to live. I've even considered going out and getting a life, obviously this would be a last resort.

Newcastle fan at EA seems to be the reason. Not the first time its happened either. Look to the left of the goal. http://www.fifaencyclopedia.com/11practicesetpiece.jpg ;D That's brilliant!

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but Messi at st James's park features on the front cover of the Fifa 2013! So thats another RTG meltdown on the cards
-
This From RTG: Tiote is probably his best find but then again, I think he's over-rated. He gets away with murder and was played off the park by Cattermole at St James' park. Seriously does anyone recall Tiote getting played off the park by Cattermole that day? Or is this just another Sunderland deluded myth? The first half was pretty much 50/50 (they got the goal so they edged it) then the second half we had all possession and dominated the game. I don't recall Cattermole playing good at all, the only thing he did that i can remember was a reckless challenge on Tiote that should have got him sent off in the first five minutes. Also the majority of them at RTG have Santon down as a flop ffs Judging by how Enrique done in his first season here i have very high hopes from Santon and i think he could be a massive player for us next season. He had a few bad games when he struggled with the pace of the game, but what do you expect from a youngster in there first year of premier league football!

Does any one think Adel Taarabt could do a job for us in left attacking midfield? I know allot of people want Hoillet but I can see more lucrative offers from other clubs for him due to him being on a free transfer. Taarabts very similar to Ben Arfa technique and skill wise and he's right footed so could cut in on his right to shoot. Fair enough he's had a terrible season but that was largely down to him being unsettled and badly managed. I'm sure Pards could get the best out of him and his value is around about £5mill so he's definitely worth a shout imo.

Just in case anyone didn't know, France vs Iceland is on espn 8:00pm this Sunday. So hopefully we'l get to see Mathieu Debuchy and our current French internationals starting for France.
-
Ben Arfa wasn't decisive enough for me today. He took to much time on the ball and couldn't pass to a team mate quick enough. Marveaux really impressed me in this respect, he seemed to know what he was going to do with the ball before he received it. In fact I cant recall him losing the ball once.
-
It looks like we may not be the only Premier league team interested. I've just found this article which suggests Man U could be interested. Not the most credible source but it's a good article none the less and gives some insight into how highly rated he is. I'll be ecstatic if we get him! http://www.sabotagetimes.com/football-sport/mathieu-debuchy-is-the-solution-to-manchester-uniteds-right-back-problem/

Theirs a new video on "a site that might be called dailymotion" of a French football talk show discussing Ben Arfa's chances of making the Euro's. It features what looks like a brand new interview with Arsene Wenger. Perhaps one of the Frechies can translate? If you search "Ben Arfa Euro2012" on the video website that "might be called dailymotion," it should show up in the results.

Not clear at all. Translation please?

Mike Ashley shouldn't sell HBA at any cost. He's the sort of player that will get neutral supporters around the world buying our shirts and following the club. The publicity for us recently has been unbelievible. Browsing other clubs message boards supporters are already coparing us to the old Newcastle. We'r definatly back in buisness, just as long as we keep hold of our best players and add quality in the summer we should be able to challenge at the top. Even if we don't make Europe this season.
-
If Pardew keeps slagging Ben Arfa's work rate off to the press it will only be a matter of time before Ben Arfa throws his toys out the pram. And I wouldnt blame him either. His work rate against QPR was good, his off the ball movment was good. What more can he do to get a start? It's only by a complete fluke of events that we managed to sign a player with such natural abilty and technique, but he isn't going to put up with being on the bench forever.
-
Eh? He simply kicked it infront of him The pass was great. 1:55 and 2:35 stood out. If you watch carfully in HD he doesnt just kick it past him, he drags it past him with the soul of his foot A very hard skill indeed.
-
The bit of skill he does in the highlights at 2:59 is unreal. Must be one of the most naturally gifted players we've ever had at the club, you can't teach a player the sort of creativity and skill he possesses.

Jonás Gutiérrez (now managing Club Almagro)
Toon_Mad_Chris replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
Jonas was brilliant tonight. Am i right in thinking both assists were crossed with his weaker foot? I know people get frustrated with him because he isn't a traditional English winger, but personally i love the style of player he is. He always plays better with Lovenkrands upfront, maybe because Lovenkrands is willing to make intelligent runs unlike a certain Andy Carroll. I hope when Ben Arfa comes back Gutierrez isn't dropped, i think the link up play between Enrique, Jonas and Ben Arfa could be something special.
