I'm not really sure why anything in that statement is 'unhelpful' or why it would effect anything. Just seems like clarification to me, if anything it's drawn attention to a few things like how to get in touch, and also what they are doing about it all. As for Edwards stuff about them not being happy as they tried to contact them before, I'm sure they've been annoyed with that long before this new statement was released, doubt they've read this and thought 'that's it reject the bastards!'
