  1. Is Sachins still good? In our time in the North East, it was the absolute bomb.

  4. Aye, sponsor quite a bit of cricket etc. http://www.justsachin.com/wp-content/uploads//815/mrf.jpg
  5. This is from Bleacher Report's BVB correspondent:
  6. Can't help thinking these stats are like goalkeepers in s*** teams being lauded for making loads of saves. Still, nice to see. The next 6 players below him are from the Top 3 teams..... That's kinda the point I was making. Of course his stats on how many times he's twatted it away from goal are better than players at teams that don't concede so many chances. But then players from other poor teams should be below him in that list instead of players from teams at the top - that stat highlights how much better he was than other defenders outside the absolute elite.
  7. Haven't bought one since our adidas relegation one so it's probably time to spend some cash. It's got the special crest so an added incentive - Keegan 7 on the back it will be.

  9. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/04/26/newcastle-managing-director-lee-charnley-arrested-st-james-park/ 11:21am Darsley Park, Newcastle's training ground, has also been raided as part of the investigation.
  10. "The club outlined that it is in a long-term relationship with its kit manufacturer, PUMA. The club also confirmed that kits had been selected for next season, with an order to be placed shortly on kits for the following 2018/19 campaign, due to the required lead times." This interests me because this suggests that it wasn't the Premier League stopping us from having full stripes on the back like we do this season but just Puma being difficult. Hopefully they've seen the positive reaction from this season and continue with this - with Wonga gone, shirt sales could be through the roof.
  11. Just finished Uli Hesse's Bayern - love them or hate them, they have a fascinating history and the section on their survival during the 30s and 40s is absorbing. This is a really good follow up to Tor and I love his writing style, the only other writer who matches him for me is Caulkin. A book on Dortmund is next, due for release in the summer of 2018 and this should be gripping as they're the team of his heart.
  12. Martin Hardy's new book is out in less than a month: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tunnel-Love-Martin-Hardy/dp/1909245437
  13. Looks like Pards has been getting close to Fiona.
  14. I've noticed on the TV that whenever we fail to sell out, there's always a sea of empty seats in the corner between the Leazes end and East Stand? Is there a reason for this? Would have thought an area that close to the pitch would find plenty of takers. Or is it because the regulars stink?
  15. Stuart James @StuartJamesGNM Understand that Arsenal have triggered the release clause in Jamie Vardy's contract. Leicester still determined to keep hold of him.
  16. My initial reaction was that they're not bad for Puma, but then I remembered these kits will lead us into our 125th anniversary so the cheap quality (+Wonga, of course) has really ticked me off.
  17. In terms of home kits, perhaps. But the best overall Puma one has to be sexy all black from 11/12. http://football-uniform.up.n.seesaa.net/football-uniform/image/Newcastle-11-12-PUMA-third-kit-Yohan-Cabaye.jpg?d=a0
  18. Love all three Brown Ale Kits, but have to pick the 95-97 above 97-99 because the latter was so itchy. I really like adidas' relegation shirt; the more black, the better.
  19. The leaks of our fellow Puma sufferers:
  20. Copenhagen's lush. My friend took me to a Brøndby IF v Nordsjælland game last year and the atmosphere was terrific. Man alive, if we can get that sort of noise going on Sunday, those fuckers in red and white will piss their pants.
  21. Do you guys remember Janmaat's quote after Pardew's final defeat? “Maybe we should have thought more about tactics and less about fighting.” Until the sending off earlier this season, McClaren outwitted Allardyce. So I have full faith in Rafa for this, he just needs to have a word with Colback and Taylor to not lose their heads and go in for two footed challenges. Easier said than done, I know.
  22. Reus has arrowed one in the bottom corner. 1-0 against Mainz.

    Steve McClaren

It's a classy statement. He's a decent man unlike Pardew so I wish him well.
