  1. Sorry, this may be unpopular, but I would rather stay put and keep my season ticket. I did nearly give it up in the dark days but it was a chance to spend time with my daughter, now 25, that I would have lost it I'd gave them up. Now my whole life revolves around the club and love every minute of it. It's hypothetical because it won't happen but do hope the guys who gave them up during the last regime have first option. However anyone who thinks Eddie should leave should be banned from applying. Social media and forum posts should be historically checked and a big black mark should be put against all none Howe believers, even if there are empty seats.
  2. Cracking result. Bit like us dropping points against Durham and Charlton This league will go to the wire Any team that put 3-4 wins together will be very difficult to catch. Hope the luck lasts
  3. Found it. It's in Birmingham's YouTube channel as blues women against Blackburn rovers
  4. The sending off really changed it. In Amber's defence there was maybe 1/2 a second between the whistle and the kick, but this ref was a law unto herself. Charlton were the best team we've played but we had them until injury time. If games in hand are all won, by all teams, we are still only 2 points from the top so still happy with the season to date. Not holding it against Amber for the draw as she's led superbly this season until today. Onwards and upwards.
  5. Amber sent off. Ref has been terrible. Long last 10
  6. Beth has followed Anthony Gordon's lead. Sign in January, take 6 months to settle and then explode on the pitch.
  7. Amber Keegan Stobbs and Beth Lumsden were the best two on the pitch by a country mile. Amber leading by example all season. Certainly haven't been outplayed at all this season. Loving it.
  8. Mine arrived yesterday. Looking forward to it. Expecting a lukewarm atmosphere but will enjoy it anyway with 3 points. Would love to see flying tackles and squaring up but unfortunately not likely.
  9. I sincerely hope that its a rebuild at current St James or overlapping in to Leases Park but this project is going to run till 2030 or 2032. The whole infrastructure to the north, south and west is gridlocked for an hour after the game. I either park in the college or at my daughters in Fenham and with always staying till the final whistle it can take an hour to get out the car park. Add an additional 20000 and the whole town will grid lock. Gateshead council have wrecked the road layouts from the Tyne Bridge and Swing Bridge and I still can't understand how trains can go over the high level but cars can't so the only options for South and West is the Redeugh and Scotswood and the traffic lights at Michell Bearings are already being used to drip feed traffic across Scotswood bridge to prevent A1 & Chainbridge Road being too busy which then gridlocks Scotswood Road back in to town. The one way systems along Percy Street and the RVI force all traffic to go on the same routes out of town. Add in the fact that half the parking spaces in car parks are now permit holders only makes it worse. If we can increase match day to similar to Spurs, have another 30 events a year with Oasis, Taylor Swift, Boxing etc. the additional money for the club, and also the city, will be massive. Hotels, restaurants and bars will be back making profits again and the city will be buzzing. Building in part of Leases park and convert the St James Park land to an arena / 'Disney type village' Newcastle Fanzone and it will totally rejuvenate our city and is vitally needed but the council will really need to sort out the roads and car parks. They'll probably solve it by charging a £30 toll to try and make it car free. The infrastructure work will take longer than the stadium.
  10. Just got back. Disappointing weekend all round, the women mirroring the men. Should have been out of sight by halftime. The opposition don't make mistakes and we have made two this season in defence, and been punished both times. I think we need to play both Barker and Lumsden on the wings and give them a good run of games. The only difference I see from the National League to the Championship are the Goalkeepers are much better and the opposition don't make mistakes which we capitalised on hugely last year. We can't do anything regarding a top striker till January but scoring 5 in 52 attempts this season speaks volumes. We could easily have been 3 or 4 goals clear before Durham had an attempt. The front three aren't yet clicking so play a settled front 3 for the next 3 or 4 games and see if they can play in to form. Lumsden, Andrews and Barker for me.
  11. Really looking forward to this one. Exciting that at this stage in the season we have possibly 3 consecutive games that will show how competitive we are. If we play as we did in the first half against Everton there's only one outcome. Going for a comfortable 3-1 to the lasses.
  12. Another great performance up to now. Some great passing moves. Amber Keegan stobbs running the show and the defence as strong as ever. Could be our greatest result. Hopefully more of the same second half and I haven't jinxed it.
  13. Stiffler, understand your point of view regarding we haven't played anyone but if you look at the game stats from today Durham had 6 shots 3 on target Charlton had 6 shots 2 on target We had 20 shots 12 on target When Durham played Portsmouth away they had 12 shots 6 on target. Against Portsmouth Charlton had 14 & 9 on target and they were at home. Becky has created a superb defence. Moan was the golden glove winner last year Lois Joel spent 3 years in the championship & 2 years in the WSL before joining us in the summer. Stokes has been there, done, it got the t shirt Pottsy has been superb since she joined us 2 years ago Deanna Cooper played for Chelsea & Reading for 7 years before coming here Defensively we are very strong conceding just 1 goal which was due to an individual mistake and we have controlled games very well from midfield. Our front 3 are all experienced at playing at this level and will improve with more game time. We are creating the chances and the longer they play together the better they will get. I may be being overly optimistic but can only see this going on way. Lets see what happens against Everton on Wednesday.
  14. Last season we stopped teams creating anything, controlled the games and the goals flowed. The last two games we have played with total control but the opposition defences are stronger and we have still found a way to score. I think this season is looking very positive. I think we'll get stronger offensively and our midfield and defence will win us points. I'm saying it first. Champions elect. I just don't see us losing. Defence looks great, midfield is controlling and strikers will get better as season goes on. Terrific start.
  15. So one sided. Really need to make it count. Up to now, nothing to fear in this league. Hopefully 2 or 3 more to go in during the second half
  16. I don't know what's worse, Man Utd making 250 redundancies and the total annual savings being less than Marcus Rashford's annual contract or NUFC women annual costs being less than Matt Targets. I think we should raise the bar and add in Isaac Hayden costs too. I understand women's football will lose money for years to come and these lasses are living the dream, but purely for the joy and inspiration they give the kids that go we should be prepared to raise the bar and lead by example. It doesn't affect PSR so we could throw in Vlachodimos as well. It really makes a mockery of football when you sign a player you don't want and pay him a wage which could make a huge difference to a full squad within the same club. All to satisfy financial demands. Beggars belief. Football needs to sort itself out.
  17. I think any one of us, Birmingham, Charlton, London lionesses or Southampton. It will be a close run league with teams points off each other. I'll be really surprised if one team runs away with it. The finances of the lasses team is really interesting to me. I haven't a clue what they get paid so I'm guessing at an average of £35k x 30 players so approx £1M for players and I guess another £1M on staff. I'm also guessing that there is a negative return on playing at Kingston park against gate receipts which is about £25k per game. I think the club help with accommodation etc and with travel & training I envisage it's about £4M a year to run the women's team. (I might be miles away mind) Taking into account only Arsenal ladies have a significant higher crowd than us, there can be no teams we can't compete against when we get promoted, whether that's this year or later, but that's all down to psr in the men's game not taking into account the cost of running the women's side. It's ridiculous to think that Matt Target's reported wage could be higher than the cost of running a women's team. It also explains the minimum wage, limited hours contracts that other teams in the championship are paying. Men's and women's football is chalk and cheese and I can't see it changing any time soon. The quicker we do it the more chance that the local lasses have a sustained career in football. I would love that to happen.
  18. I first watched the lasses at the Alnwick game at St James and only missed 4 home games since. What started as a Dad and daughter occasion has grown to Dad, Mam, daughter, another daughter and her boyfriend, a son in law and my granddaughter. The 'journey' is the thing, I love it. I have 7 season tickets now for the women and have also have season tickets for the men's for over 20 years and fortunately got my granddaughter a season ticket the summer before takeover. The difference in the football is significant but rapidly shortening but the occasion, to me anyway, is the same. Everyone should give it a go and I'll be surprised if you don't enjoy even for no other reason than for being black and white. I would love nothing more than converting Wallsendmag into a lasses season ticket holder but fear I have more chance of getting Eddie to invite Mitchell for Christmas dinner. Never mind.
  19. Great result. Great performance. Everyone played their part. Moan very impressive. Really good start and afternoon. Now for a quick nap and night shift.
  20. On a side note, the ice cream man at Kingston park must be the highest paid on match day. Incredible that Blackburn have their players on 16hr minimum wage contracts and our ice cream man is earning thousands on a match day. Something wrong somewhere
  21. Really good team performance. Everyone seems to have elevated their game. Cooper and Stokes look great and the midfield working their socks off. Really promising start
