I think too many people get caught up with ‘intent’. I don’t think he has gone to do him like that. But you know, he has? Curtis Jones against Spurs. Bruno against Southampton in the semi final. Even Duran on Schar, which was deliberate IMO. They’re all reds whether they meant to catch the player or not.

I don’t think it’s 6 games, Rod. I didn’t see yesterday. But I thought he was bad against Wolves and he was one of our worst performers against Bournemouth. Still bagged in one of those games, mind and got an assist yesterday I do find him one dimensional and frustrating as a player. More than likely by design with him staying high and not wanting to burn him out. But his defensive work and recovery runs have disappeared out of his game.

I’d argue going to trip someone to stop a counter when the ball is nowhere near. But accidentally catching the player with your studs halfway up their shin. With you then treading on their ankle, is pretty reckless. You see similar ones given when the ball is there to be played. So I genuinely don’t understand why it is seen as so controversial? I’m convinced everyone thought it was for a professional foul at first and they just can’t adjust their opinion. Despite the mounting evidence. Murphy is arguably better against teams where there will be space in behind to use his pace and not be expected to break down deep defences and control and move the ball in tight areas. He was decent and effective against Liverpool. But I feel the Leicester game was the turning point for his season. He was brutal the first half hour or whatever it was. Then bagged a brilliant goal and a second. Unlucky not to get a hat trick and once they opened up. He looked like he’d score or assist every attack Bar the odd blip. He’s not really looked back since.

Said when we kept getting linked with Dibling that Fernandes is the player I’d rather we go for. Like you allude to. Might be a bit positonless in a Howe system.

Hopefully going to this. Fulham have been decent this season and whilst we weren’t in form. They beat us with ease down there. Assuming it will be unchanged again and no issues with that. Although Joelinton isn’t performing well at the minute. But I wouldn’t be against Botman coming in for Burn. He had a mare in the away game from memory and their movement and pace in their attack could maybe cause him issues again.

I feel like loads of people decided it was given as a professional foul and denying a goalscoring opportunity. When there is no way that would happen from that position on the pitch. And/or the first angle and the real time decision. Then with all the evidence, new angles and the fact it’s confirmed as serious foul play. People have just doubled down and can’t accept it. I don’t even think it’s particularly contentious.

Howe said in his post-match interview that Bruno and Isak has been ill this week and implied they did well to even play. Not seen today. But he looked really sluggish last week and back to his old self with some of his bad habits. His lack of athleticism has always been apparent and isn’t going to go away. But I still think he has set the bar so high with his performances. That anything below a 7 and he looks terrible.

He has his flaws, no player is perfect. But what a season he is having. To reemphasise my point from the other day. I want us to go after a right footer to play RW and that is based on watching him for us this season. The balance of the team is much better and Isak clearly loves playing with him/a more natural winger on that side.

Nah. I can see both sides of the argument. But absolutely no issue with that being a red. Players do that going for the ball and can get a red card because of where the studs are and a raking, stamping motion. Whether he means it or not. The ball is nowhere near and it’s clumsy as fuck if all he was trying to do was trip him. I saw some comments going on like it was the softest red of all time. Then I saw it and couldn’t understand what the problem was?!
