  1. Yep. Forgot to even mention how money has ruined it. I remember my old man commenting on it. Saying the day someone pays £100m for a footballer, is the day it dies. Well, we're not far off. I remember thinking at the time he was wrong and just being a grumpy old sod. But it's not very enjoyable when you have teams that can just use the unlimited money cheat from Football Manager and buy who they want.
  2. This. A cartwheel and then a forward roll?! It's like he's doing a dance routine in year two gymnastics class. Utter shit. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet. But SSN using Football Manager stats when looking at players. Horrendous.
  3. Just to weigh in on the debate. I thought it was a red. Clumsy and needless. Probably not malicious. But as others have said, his reputation precedes him. Probably his appearance doesn't help either, as wrong as that sounds. If he was some model looking, slick tart like Giroud. I bet Marriner would have been more lenient. I don't have a problem with the red card. I do have a problem with the consistency from game to game and from pundits, ex-refs, ex-pros etc. Tripping over themselves to defend one act, whilst condemning another that is so similar. Marriner was booking our players for what seemed like almost every tackle. Whilst Arsenal players could do the same and not even get a talking to. On another note. Football is embarrassing these days. The amount of cheating, play acting and diving that goes on almost makes it unwatchable at times. Our discipline was a bit shit, but the Arsenal players looked like they were trying out for a role in a new war film. 'Hard Man' Coquelin being the worst offender.
  4. A powerful image indeed I'm glad someone else has mentioned it. Extremely camp and just makes him look like he's a bit mentally challenged. I'd be fuming if one of our players celebrated like that. Be good if one of our players started playing as well as him though.

These last couple of pages have made for painful reading
  6. OK, I mistyped the stadium name(but to old timers like me, Man C will ALWAYS be associated with Maine Rd !), but READ MY POST...Did I, or did I not say HBA was TAKEN OUT BY DE JONG.. Incidentally, HBA could also be inconsistent but how you have come to deduce that I was stating that in connection with the de Jong tackle, I have no idea. Tbf your whole post didn't really seem to have much of a coherent point to it, you basically trotted the "french wingers are moody" line out It might have looked 'incoherent' to you because you clearly haven't got the intelligence to understand it - and don't waste your time trying to reply again, I am not interested in either the opinions or posts by people like you. Seems very waspy on here of late
  7. Erm. Isn't it the other way around? I always hear that term or 'camera save' when the keeper has tucked their legs up and fail to land on their feet, when they clearly could have done. Or they parry a shot, that they could easily catch.

In a nutshell. I stopped going because of Pardew and then it got even worse with Carver. I never felt the need to criticise others for still turning up though. I'd like to start going again TBH and hope to before or over Christmas. I think it would take some monumental effort to get rid of Ashley and a buyer that would stump up silly money to get him to hand over the reins. So I don't see why it should totally ruin that slight bit of enjoyment I sometimes get from watching us live. Wow. I got depressed typing that

The 5 they have signed are 'serious signings' by their standards Well, at a push, 2, maybe even 3 of them are. But still. Short has invested so much recently, it's hardly surprising he has cut back a bit. They are so short term it's unreal. Manager on a one year deal. They constantly buy old, past it players and give them lucrative deals. Plus, they seem to have a squad and management over haul every year.

I first read that as 'turning the guy out'
  11. Change your name. It's free FFS. I didn't want my Dad's surname, so I changed it back to my Mother's maiden name. You can print a deed poll off and do it yourself FFS
  12. Messy race that. Sprint down the home straight in the end and I don't think Pleascach is a better filly than Curvy or the runner up. Oh well, just bitter that Sea Calisi didn't quite get up
  13. Yeah. Skybet were as well. But the moneyback offer was for the first three places. Thought I was on for £400 for a while. Bloody York and the long straight never know where the line is.
  14. Snap. Had £25 on with Skybet. Don't even get my moneyback either as just got done for third. Good start for my L15 though at least.
  15. What makes it even worse is, I'm sure Lua Lua wasn't allowed an initial on his shirt, to honour the memory of his baby boy who sadly passed away. I may have made this up. But I'm sure I read an article about it, where Congo hid the fact his son had died, to stop him leaving the AFCON early :'( But you can have cunts swanning about with 'Little Pea' and 'Memphis' on the back of their shirts
  16. Easton Angel flopped next time out at Newmarket, mind. Besharah reversed form and looked the better filly, nearly beating Illuminate in a three way photo and has won easily since. Lumiere has been talked up by Johnston for weeks now and all, could be anything and he obviously thinks she's special. Ante post fav for the 1000 Guineas next year and I have had a couple of £5 free bets on that myself. Looks a tough race to call. I like the French filly, Sea Calisi in the Yorkshire Oaks. Price has been gradually coming in, I'm sure I saw 12/1 the other day. I'm on each way at 8/1. May regret abandoning Covert Love after winning a fair bit off her last win. So have stuck her in a L15 with Tasleet, Lumiere and Big Orange (runs tomorrow).
  17. Javier Hernandez and the fact he is allowed to have his wanky nickname on the back of his shirt. I have an irrational dislike of the little ladyboy.

One thing I was always pretty much assured of growing up, was that no matter how shit we were, we usually got a result against sunderland. Or at least it wouldn't be too long before our next one. Whilst they were spending time swapping divisions. Not beating them in 4 years is completely unacceptable. It's hardly like they've been the superior team or anything. In fact, during that time, I am guessing they have finished below us every season? When you're just going to finish lower half of the table or flirt with relegation. All you have to look forward to as a fan, is playing a bit of nice football and beating your rivals. Something we've not had a lot of under Pardew
  19. I'm coming round to this signing now. I liked Cabella, but he struggled to play wide and didn't really look to get by his man and get crosses in. This lad looks like he will be able to offer some width, but also seems versatile. Could play in a free role as a number 10........... Sorry, I forgot we don't do that do we If Cabella was genuinely injured and wasn't in McClaren's plans. Then I'm all for this swap. Will hopefully mean Obertan will be on the bench before long and having yet more pace in the team can't hurt. We've gradually started to work quicker players into the team and I like that.

  21. Not that I in anyway fancied Arabian Queen to win today and I wasn't at all tempted by going e/w with only 2 places up for grabs. But it is annoying when you've backed the horse e/w the last three runs. 50/1!
  22. I went with Shore Step for this offer. So as long as you don't back the same as me, you should have a chance of winning Just went to back the same horse, but my account is suspended. Apparently I only use their offers to make money so won't be allowed back on. Can't avoid the horse completely, so £2.50 E/W on Shore Step @ 12/1, another £2.50 E/W on Jonny Cavigan and a £2.50 E/W double. 6th in the end. Shitter. Tony Calvin is well worth a follow on twitter if you like to have a punt on the odd longshot. He put Caspian Prince up at 35/1 on Betfair Exchange last night, think you could have got around 25/1 elsewhere. If only we had read this, this morning
  23. I was wondering if anyone was going to pick up on the RTG catchphrase
  24. I went with Shore Step for this offer. So as long as you don't back the same as me, you should have a chance of winning
  25. Like a dog with a bone on this one, aren't you? Rattled marra
