Yeah….I know. They want him gone because of the money (him being out of contract and refusing to sign a new one on less money), not the fact they don’t want him as a player….which is what I’ve been saying.

They want to keep him. But he’s demanding more money/improved contract as a result of them signing Torres. They offered him a new deal which he’s turned down as it wasn’t enough cash for his demands. I haven’t heard anything about all that stuff, just that he is one of their best players, when he’s not injured. Xavi has publicly said he wanted him to stay.

He plays just fine to be fair. He’s been one of, if not THE best player at times at Barca, WHEN he plays.

According to The Independent, Isak is insistent on only joining a Champions League club (and so would turn down interest from Arsenal), while Sociedad are not interested in selling the forward in January. The same report also says that Sociedad are aware they can get more than £50million for the 22-year-old and will look for offers closer to the £100m mark.

Just recalled it being mentioned when we were after him at the start of the window, but fair enough if their owner has said that.

As well as the £25m (or whatever) fee, I think the club rightly baulked at the alleged loan back and 30% future resale clauses. Straight fee, and I think we’d probably have got him in.

He can advise all he wants (or all they want him to), but at the end of the day, it’s all about the £££’s for them. And even more so when they know we’ll be competition soon enough.
