https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/ranking-unai-emerys-12-signings-as-arsenal-manager-from-worst-to-best/ although, as earlier stated, he was working under a DoF model so unsure how many were his personal choices?
-
Working under a DoF model, the manager only has a limited say.
-
“The Spaniard had been widely tipped to be Bruce's successor at St. James' Park, but gave an interesting update at his Champions League press conference. Addressing rumours linking him with the Magpies,Emery said: "I don't know anything about Newcastle."” aye- hardly likely to say anything else at Villarreals own CL press conference. And it was last night.
-
Been on the yellow sky tape that he’s taking charge tonight with more talks with us tomorrow
-
We can do better than them, surely? Foyth struggled at times in the PL?
-
“They'll love him as well as he's foreign.” “They'll love him already as he's got a fancy name”
-
Who was Emery’s DoF at PSG? Has he worked with any of our linked names before?
-
According to Puke? Aye, righto. Has to hoy some negativity around today, doesn’t he.
-
Not to mention CEO etc. There are numerous important positions to be filled club wide.
-
In the 2019-2020 season, Tottenham commercial revenue was £162m whilst ours was £29m. Thanks Mike. Which is why it’s imperative we grow that side of the club asap in order to compete with the likes of Spurs, let alone Man Utd etc (£279m).
-
Of course. And we as fans can see it, just as I’m sure the owners can. Complaint about not having a manager in for the last two games though and thinking we’d have got anything out of them, instead of taking the time to interview all the possible candidates IS bedwetting. If it’s not down this week or next then we’ve got problems, but all signs point to it getting done. People just have to have patience, like the last 18 months.
-
Sorry to be so pessimistic- think the bedwetters have finally got to me.
-
Simply no way he’d entertain coming to us. In my opinion. He’s a level above where we are, if not more so, and he knows it.
-
Nah, I’m sure we’d have asked, but it’s clear he’s a ‘winner’ and not a ‘builder’ which is what we need right now. He’d have turned us down for sure. He’s a man who wants trophies and move, not build an empire.
-
Fair enough- thanks for the reply. You don’t think his Champions League exploits or Bayern II job suggest he’d be a success elsewhere then?

Says he’s set to sign, not done?
-
Somehow doubt it with some folk here.

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-consortium-thinking-manager-decision-22028244 good article for all the doom merchants. "We want to take the decision as quickly as possible because there is some urgency but it will not be at the expense of taking the right decision," a source said. "But the right decision long-term will be the right decision for the short-term as well." “the view of those at the centre of the black and white storm - the new long-term custodians of Newcastle United - remains unchanged: get this huge decision right rather than make a knee jerk call. The right man, if you will, rather than Mr Right Now.”
-
Referred to on Sky just this morning as a “long and protracted saga”, which I seem to remember took a lot longer than three weeks and whereby they constantly flirted between managers with several turning them down. Yet us, in the middle of a season, with a shit shell of a club, and new owners are getting pelters from a percentage of the fan base for not being as quick.
-
We all hope that. But it seems like you’re criticising the current owners before letting them get to the point of making that decision, whether that’s the right one or not. We all wish we had a good manager in by now, but unlike Spurs, we have only had three weeks of ownership and all that entails (which 99% of us probably wouldn’t even have a clue about with how much and what that requires).

18 month deal offered to Conte by Spurs, allegedly. Surprising. Doesn’t sound a long term (obviously!), stable, secure deal at all?
