This is childish and petty. They are 16th/17th, winning the UEFA cup wouldn't overshadow our season, where we've won a trophy and could potentially have a 2nd place finish. He's 19, not everyone is going to be Cesc or even Jude to a lesser extent. It's extremely hard to be ready as a CM at that age. He clearly has talent, needs time to develop. More playing time/loan out (feeder club pls) would help massively.

Ross Barkley was coming off a season where he performed well for Luton, injury free no less. I'd have no problems whatsoever with that type of signing on a free. DCL is a poor to mediocre striker who's always injured having scored just 13 goals over the last 3 seasons. There upside is minimal, the downsides are practically guaranteed. If we're serious about being a regular Top 6 outfit, push for Delap at £30m or looking elsewhere. You're letting his 'free' tag cloud his actual worth.
