  1. I think it would be a disaster to go defensive against Brighton, that will play right into their hands like it did earlier this season. Jones more attacking formation will be much more effective against them. They don't score many goals so even if we get hit on the counter, they might well miss the chances. Going defensive would make absolutely no sense whatsoever in this game. For all they beat Southampton they seemed to struggle with their high press in large parts of the game. I think we’ve got a chance if we set up the same as we did v Southampton and Everton.
  2. What a coincidence. The game was against Everton, my only game at St James Park. Beat them 4-2 that day. Actually got a chance to speak to Hugo at halftime. What a memory. I’ve been trying to find what that game was this morning and I’m so pleased you mentioned it!
  3. He’s been mentioned already but Viana was a big one for me. He was arguably one of Robson’s biggest mistakes while he was here. The amount of times he tried to shove him on the left wing when he blatantly wasn’t that type of player. There was also that game where Speed had to go off for stitches and rather than subbing Viana on we just played with 10 men for what felt like an eternity until he got back on the pitch. Nile Ranger as well. It was entirely his own fault but he could have been a player if he didn’t have only two brain cells.
  4. Great result for us tonight.

    England

Probably an unpopular opinion but I think he’s a much better keeper than Darlow.

I’m not surprised at all but absolutely no one could convince me Dier and Mings are better defenders than Lascelles. Dier has cost Spurs loads of points and Joelinton gave Mings the run around last week. Joelinton... Tarkowski and Mee are both far superior to those two as well.
  7. Wolves probably. Unbelievable game v Bournemouth but that was it from him despite his lack of game time. I don’t think he’s done much in Germany either has he?
  8. Also I’ve just searching Ando7 on Twitter to see what the craic was and discovered there’s a lass on their called Ando7 putting out some spicy material. Hope it’s the same person dropping leaks.
  9. Assuming Bruce doesn’t make it past the end of the season. Is anyone actually going to employ him ever again?

    Jacob Murphy

Actually I have usually stuck up for Murphy as much as I can, but at this stage of the season it's about which players have the balls to show up and win a game. Unfair to ask it from a lad like Murphy who seems to suffer confidence issues to begin with. I think he's much better coming off the bench. Ironically I'm not usually a fan of Ritchie, but one thing he's not short of is character. He should be playing IMO, but Steve's precious ego would take a hit. Any attacking midfielder like Murphy, Ritchie, Anderson would have been a better bet in this system than throwing Gayle out there in my opinion.

Assuming results go how we expect them (or how form would suggest), we lose to Brighton and Fulham beat Leeds. I wonder if there’s any hope the club would consider sacking him going into the international break and trying to get a new manager bounce to keep us up? I think it’s too late regardless. I wonder if it’s something they’d consider though?

    Jacob Murphy

I think people are a bit harsh on him and judge him for what he was like before his loan. He looks a lot more robust now, actually tries to make things happen and has won us points when he’s been used in attacking positions despite his limited game time (Wolves, WBA and Villa off the top of my head). He’s absolutely shite at rwb and it’s bizarre he was ever thrown in there when he can’t defend. Given the system we play it makes far more sense actually playing him in that pressing position rather than Gayle or however the fuck he shoehorned Hendrick in the other week. He deserves a run in the side until both Miggy and ASM can start.
  13. Careful, you’ll get arrested for saying that. ???

That’d be too late. It potentially already is. Yea it’s already too late. We needed a new manger to have a run at these winnable games.
  15. We need to beat these now. A point isn’t good enough and a loss would be writing on the wall.
  16. He touched his shin there.
  17. Personally think he's really tidy. Not a works beater, but a useful player. He's been poor today like. He’s their Hendrick.
  18. Armstrong is such a shit player. Lives off the odd long range goal every few months.
  19. Of course he’s missed that free kick.
  20. Feel like I’ve done nothing but watch us play awful while teams around us play mint and pick up points for about the past month.
  21. Yea, we’re fucked. Awful goalkeeping.
  22. Fucking Everton losing against shit teams man (us included).
