This cements it for me. Thanks Seegull 👍

£55m +5m or whatever is being reported this morning is too much for him and what he improves for us. It might be a poor comparison but if you look at the type of players City have signed for less or similar money from Europe this summer we need to fuck off this Premier League market.
-
Not even bitter about this one. Including him in the first 11 would require a formation/system change or he’s a second striker to Isak. Far too high a fee for that level of question mark. I do hope he’s shite though. Now go and blast some serious money on a proper right winger please.
-
How did this guy go from the striker everyone in the Premier League wanted to buy to signing for Fenerbahce 12 months later?
-
Francis Chip announced it yesterday

Publicly missing out on our top targets over a drawn out period definitely isn’t a good look.
-
Reading loads of people criticising our negotiating strategy but I’m not sure we should just be giving clubs what they want straight away for players that aren’t going immediately raise our level. I like Pedro. I think he’d be a good signing and he may still turn out to be but this isn’t a Botman, Bruno, Tonali, Gordon, Isak level of transfer. I might be wrong there but not enough of these targets are those types of players. We should have been prioritising one in the RW position. I also get a lot of this is frustration from failed PSR windows but I’m still inclined to believe we’ll do good business this window.
-
I’m confident this gets done this time.

That’s a proper nothing article from Baldwards for clicks. No doubts he’ll backtrack on it later down the line.
-
I like Elanga a lot and like him in our system but there’s still some questions over how far he can go. £45m seems like a good fee for him. I don’t think he’s worth north of £50-£55m. I think we should move on if Forest are adamant they aren’t gonna sell. Last thing we need is a Guehi style drawn out process.
-
Yeah same. We’ve got such a clear weakness in the position so I can’t grasp why it isn’t a higher priority. I think he’d do well here.
-
The reality is we need to be making the type of signings that’ll convince players like Isak, Bruno, Tonali want to stay. So far I don’t think we’ve even been linked with those type of signings.

That’s a brutal start to the season
-
I feel like there’s been a bit of an agenda against Gordon. His form was inconsistent in the second half of the season but still had decent numbers and put in some huge performances like the semi final. It seems to be some sort of hangover from the club trying to flog him to Liverpool to solve the PSR issues and certain sections of the fan base have blamed him for “having his head turned”. Selling out best players is madness and we need him firing if we’re going to keep progressing.
-
Been busy at work today but saw Edwards’s “👀” twitter post early. Came on here to see what it was about and it was just him saying we’ve opened talks. Raging.
-
Good question - I’m sure there’s a few on here that could shed some light on this
-
I’d absolutely love this

Cherki for 40m Euros is exactly why we shouldn’t be in the Premier League market all the time. Any winger we want seems to be £60m minimum.
-
+1 for taking Grealish on loan if it could be a reasonable purchase fee and he’d drop to our wage structure. He could fit into our midfield 3 like Carsley tried him in when we’re facing low blocks.
-
I think Sunderland have done alright there. Decent fee for Bellingham - his stats aren’t great reading (I know he’s young). He hasn’t really passed the eye test when I’ve seen him and no one seems to know what his best position is. Also to be fair to the lad he’s left Sunderland before he has a season inevitably struggling in the Premier League and in terms for career progression he’s given himself the best chance. It’s arguably one of those rare transfers where all 3 parties can benefit.
-
Have I remembered this incorrectly but was there something a bit noncey going around about Pedro at the time he signed for Watford or Brighton?
-
Kepa for £5m is great value
-
I might be wrong here but isn’t only ever really used as a forward though? My understanding is when he’s been deployed as a 10 there hasn’t been a forward like Isak in front of him for example?
-
I like Pedro but I don’t really get the transfer. It’s a ton of money for a backup for Isak. Don’t anyone realistically put forward playing two up front either because isn’t a thing.
-
I’m well up for Elanga. I think he’d be a perfect fit for us. £50m seems about £10-15m too high but you’re not getting value for money in the Premier League.
