My fellow Newcastle fans, the day of the Carabao cup final is drawing near, and I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us here. This is a journey that began long before the final whistle blows – a journey that started with the passion and determination of the Newcastle United supporters and the players. From the first day of the season, we knew that this was going to be a challenging road. We faced tough opponents, injuries, and setbacks along the way. But we never lost faith. We knew that if we stayed true to our principles and worked together as a team, we could overcome any obstacle. And that's exactly what we did. We fought hard for every point, every goal, and every win. We showed the world what it means to be a Newcastle United fan – a fan who never gives up, who never backs down, and who never stops believing. Our players have been nothing short of exceptional. They have played with heart, passion, and grit, inspiring us all with their performances on the pitch. They have shown us that anything is possible when you believe in yourself and your teammates. But let's not forget about the fans. You have been the backbone of this team. Your unwavering support has been the driving force behind our success. Whether at home or away, you have cheered us on every step of the way, lifting our spirits and giving us the strength to push through the toughest of challenges. So as we prepare for the final, let us remember that we are in this together. Let us remember the journey that has brought us here, and the passion and determination that has fueled us along the way. Let us carry that same spirit into the final, knowing that we have what it takes to triumph over any opponent. We may be up against one of the biggest football clubs in the world, but we are Newcastle United. We are a team that never gives up, never backs down, and never stops fighting. Let's show the world what we're made of, and we will bring that cup home! Howay......

Typical Newcastle going into a cup final full of doubts, I posted a couple of weeks back, have we peaked and is Eddie the Manager to Win Cups and titles or do we need a experienced Euro Manager ? Eddie Howe capable of taking us to the top, I don't know and truth be told nobody knows at this moment in time, I hope to God Eddie has the ability to turn us into a Domestic and Euro success. I'll not bang this drum any further, this is my final say.......bring in Rafa into the club in some capacity, his experience is invaluable, you don't reach the zenith without someone experienced to guide and show the way. The players have been absolutely magnificent, they have given their all, we've gone from backs to the wall, to a expectation that we should win.......that's a very different mindset, one being, were not going to get beat, to they expect us to win! I don't believe we have players good enough to dominate games yet, Eddie's tactic of a high press has shown dividends but Liverpool showed we are vulnerable with the ball over the top. It will take time to assemble a strong playing squad, we are on a journey that will take time and understanding support from the terraces, we will have more games like the Liverpool one, I've watched football long enough to know some days lady luck deserts you and the bounce of the ball doesn't go your way. Hopefully the Carabao Cup Final will reset us, it's not a League game, it's a one off game that will be settled on the day and the winner is crowned champions, the mindset will be backs to the wall and we won't get beat, Man U are favourites and people expect them to win, we won't let that happen, we won't get beat, we are here to WIN NEWCASTLE UNITED WILL WIN THE CARABAO CUP..... BECAUSE WE WILL NOT GET BEAT (Tin hat back on)

Panties to tight Princess ?

Rafa will end up with some position at the club! I'm not talking above Eddie, but maybe Euro Advisor/Director? Rafa was instrumental in bringing Amanda to the club.

The happy go lucky scouse is a fallacy, them and the scouse mackems have always had a vicious element to their support. First time at Anfield was early 70s, the Anfield rd end was not segregated, Newcastle and Liverpool fans were at it all game, the coppers watched on. Ambushes in Stanley Pk on the way back to the busses, even local lads playing football stopped and joined in the fighting. One year the coppers had us surrounded, they telt the Liverpool lot to move on, the scousers telt the coppers to fuck off and charged into us......that was an eye opener and I don't mind admitting scary! We've also had our moments at Anfield, including on the Kop! Fuck the Scouse -
Ha ha some canny replies fellas No way am I advocating Eddie Howe being given the boot..... The disappointment of the Bournemouth result and the subsequent criticism of the lack of performance by the players, prompted my evaluations.... Back in the day.....70s, the matchday programme ran a Poll asking fans, would you want a team that plays with flare and excitement or would you sacrifice entertainment, for a successful team who grind out results ? The vast majority voted for the exciting team playing with flare! We are not the Newcastle of old, hopefully relegations are not something to fear anymore, I'd like to think those days are cast to history and never to return. Our future looks rosy, it will take time and I'm confident we will become a giant of the game, the Saudis aren't here for a laugh and a joke, there not spending and not concerned about a return...... does anyone believe the owners really want to play second fiddle to Qatar, The Americans, Chinese, Malays, Thai's and the Brits! To reiterate I fully endorse and support Eddie Howe as our Manager, being a realist I also recognise one swallow doesn't make a summer, I hope Eddie continues with his successful tenure, I honestly do, but I've been around long enough to know things change quickly in football. I'll shut the fuck up now, however........there's a fella in the background with massive experience, won titles galore, played a part in the takeover and I'm positive with his experience he could mentor Eddie Howe if required....... Have we Peaked with this playing squad ? The dynamics have changed massively, I suspect the mentality of the players has changed from desperation, determination and pure passion, a year ago we were fighting for our Premier League survival, every game was a Cup Final ! Now the whole aura surrounding NUFC , from every angle including the supporter base, is that now going into games we expect to Win them. Can't fault the effort, but the urgency and desire to Win the game has been replaced with, we'll win this and we should have Won this game. Sheff Wed should have been a wake up call, instead all we did was make excuses, instead of recognising Wednesday wanted it more than us. Has Eddie Howe reached the summit of his ability ? I'll probably gets pelters for this, but as the saying goes, "it's nice to be nice, but nice guys win nothing!" Eddie deserves every accolade, his transformation of the players has been magical, Joelinton in particular, borders on the unbelievable, is Eddie Howe capable of taking us to the next level, maybe he is, but do the owners gamble on a Eddie future or do they find an experienced European Manager, someone with Champions League experience and a track record of winning Leagues and Titles. A lot depends on the Carabao Cup game and the remaining league games, Win the Cup and finish the season strong with a top four finish and I'd expect Eddie is safe for another year, if the wheels fall off and we fall in a heap, Eddie Howe's future with Newcastle United will be in doubt! NUFC is a different beast now, we are not here just to compete, make no bones about it, we are here to be the BEST. Tin hat on!

Feel for the City supporters, there support of old was top notch, very different to the Man U fans. Moss side was never the most welcoming mind, and the Kippax was fond of launching airborne coins and anything else to stot of ya nappa! After the 76 final some of us had a drink with the City fans down Victoria coach station, we even went looking for the Cockney Reds together, after a rumour started they were wanting a meet! Anyway, I expect Man City will get a wrap across the knuckles with a fine and maybe points deduction, if truth be told the Premier League, F.A. and Uefa need the monies City hoy about!
