  1. Not as tall as Douglas but still tall and very strong with a very good spring. He's very good in the air.

    Papiss Cissé

He might not even go to AFCON as well seeing as Senegal need to beat Ivory Coast to qualify.

Right, my mind has been made up. Welbeck ffs
  4. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2179910/Transfer-latest-West-Ham-target-Abdoulaye-Ba.html
  5. Might be wrong, but i'm pretty certain that is what Edwards said when Ba uploaded that video earlier in the summer.
  6. There's that too, both him and Taylor wont expect to start every game although they would want to and obviously the better performer will get the start. Also due to his ability on the ball we could have Taylor and Williams and rest Colo for some games. I like it personally, i hope there is actually truth to it.
  7. He's been s***-stirring about this ever since it came out. Yep and i don't quite get why, probably trying to get people to buy his rag. Also i would agree with the notion that was no clause at all if Pardew didn't admit there was a clause on various occasions lol.
  8. Dont agree tbh, Williams is quick, strong, a beast in the air and comfortable in possession as well having a very good range of passing. What's not to like? He could dislodge Saylor, its not a forgone conclusion but id be happy with Williams and Taylor fighting for a spot both are quality IMO.
  9. Edwards showing off why he's a c*nt yet again
  10. Would definitely be happy with that.
  11. As long as we have a system that gives us defensive stability and attacking fluidity i dont think it matters where Hatem plays be it left, centre or right as long as he has the freedom to roam. What we cant do is restrict him and make it easy for defenders to pick him up.
  12. It's funny because the 4-3-3 ends up like that at times anyway, when Ben Arfa comes inside Ba usually joins Cisse in the box and Santon takes the space Ba leaves. In any case i have full faith in Pardew what ever system he wants to deploy i think we can make it work. The thing that pleased me was the friendly against fenerbahce we used a 4-4-2 but we didn't hoof and they would usually be a striker dropping deep.
  13. The problem with that is that it restricts how effective Cabaye, Jonas and Ben Arfa are. Ben Arfa and Cabaye are much better pushed forward, Jonas is better in the middle where he can keep it simple and need to be relied upon. I'm also convinced Cisse is better as a "1" than he is alongside someone, although there's no proof behind this yet. In theory it could work in certain games but it restricts too many players IMO.
  14. Simpson, Tav and Raylor......you are quite correct if they aren't good enough. Raylor isn't a fullback really and should only play there at a last resort, Tav is a kid who will do well but cant be relied upon who is also showing some potential as a CB. Simpson will probably leave. Now that the CB chase seems to be on the backburner, getting Debuchy and a striker is the priorities. I think the centre back is on the back burner because of Good coming in and Tav's performances there...........still like to see another one in though. Probably and i would also but if were to sign Debuchy a quality forward and midfielder instead i wont be complaining either. Even if it does go to the shitter at CB there's always January

  16. So was Ba but that didn't happen, because you are on track don't mean it will happen.
  17. Not really he's never been a good footballer, he was good at being on the end the type of attacks we built during that time span but he was never a good footballer. Also he's been awful for longer than he's been good. So basically you have just admitted he was good then. Not what i meant by being a " good footballer " being a good forward and a good footballer is two totally different things. For example Tim Cahill was a fantastic finisher but quite average in his general play so i wouldnt really call him a " great footballer" Andy Carroll's job is to finish mate, he isn't a Del Piero ffs. And for a big guy he actually has pretty decent feet btw. Never denied all that tbf, just dont agree he has this immense potential like some people. Also he's not that great of a finisher even during his 6 months of really good form he missed a lot of chances, he's your typical target man he will get goals but never by the bucketload. More likely to get a decent amount and set up chances for others too. He's more likely to get 10 goals and 10 assists than 20 goals for example.
  18. He only did anything in the first team during those 6 months, i don't care for friendly's against Juventus or the Championship it means nothing. Also yep so unstoppable he was that he scored 10 goals in 18 games, definitely the goal return of an unstoppable beast. Carroll is a good target man for a mid table club but nothing more than that really. We have moved on and excelled he isn't good enough for a top 6 team.
  19. Quite easy really, there's people called agents. Everyone does it these days most players agree terms before transfers are agree tbh.

Also he's been awful for longer than he's been good. This is the type of thing I'm talking about. He was immense for us in 2010, you must have been in a coma during that period and compensated by having a flick through the book of football cliches. What Ian W's saying is fair enough but comments like yours are ridiculous. He's had a bad time at Liverpool but will be a good Premier League player. He was good for 6 months and he's been awful the rest of the time. I have to believe it was a flukey run of form as in nearly 2 years since he hasnt come close to replicating the form not even once. I realise he was really good in those 6 months when he had the entire team built for him, but before then and since then he hasnt shown anything to suggest it wasn't just a flukey run of form.
