Oh no I agree with that I just mean the stigma of buying success is surely less now than a decade ago. With the influx of cash into pl it seems the way things are going for better or worse.

I don't think getting the Chelsea/man city treatment is as galling a prospect as it once was. It's by no means a guarantee of total success anymore and more a guarantee of chances. Especially with Rafa I'd trust the club had the right mindset.

Let us assume that Sheikh Mo from the Maktoum family wants NUFC, given that he controls Emirates Airways that sponsor Arsenal to the tune of £30m p.a we might expect something similar for NUFC at a guess. There's building a stadium and then there's building non essential state of the art facilities. It's a huge advantage to a team that can afford it and stopping/minimising that is the idea of ffp is it not? It was just to stop teams spending stupid amounts on wages and transfers. In the NFL etc, it's similar with their wage caps I think but stadium spend etc is excluded. Fair enough
