Debuchy played well tonight.

Why is Jose letting Juan Mata leave as is reported? Can't think of any logical reason to that

This. Last summer was an utter disgrace imo and made Ashley's ambition levels very transparent.
-
It's just an expression, that in no way suggests we should be "grateful" to Ashley. what other terminology should have used?. Also we most likely would have been relegated without those signings. So whatever the motives/financial implications, it pulled us out of the s***. Our financial situation is better than most, we actually turn a profit. Most PL football clubs are in debt. It's perfectly fine to like some things Ashley does and not others. You just automatically jumped to the most extreme standpoint. I've never said be grateful for Ashley I merely said you cant lay every problem at the football club at his door, particularly not the stuff that happens on the pitch. Another way of looking at it. Since he's been here we've finished in the top half once. The others have been 12th, relegated, 12th and 16th, the last almost very nearly resulting in relegation again. The club achieves nothing of note and will continue to do so while him and his chump Llambias are at the controls. Yes Pardew is clueless, quite clearly. But it's Ashley who put him there to begin with.

It is. I'm very underwhelmed by how the club is going at the moment, find it hard to get excited about Newcastle (while Ashley is about) and that's an awful thing to say.
-
Probably down to the fact that sports direct is turning into the clubs second name. We're not a very attractive club from the outside looking in in terms of revenue. Just a cheaply run penny saver.
-
We do, we use our revenue to fund any buys - no cash provided by other quarters, when imo the money is there.
-
Debuchy should have been at the club in the summer. Would have been far more settled with a full season under his belt.
-
Aren't we 20th in that football money league?
-
Ashley only spent that money in Jan as he was paranoid about relegation. The irony being that if we'd been higher up and comfortable in the league he likely would not have seen need to strengthen the team. The not replacing players isn't really a myth as it takes us forever to do it - all down to the way we approach transfers. Cisse was Carroll's replacement, took a year to do so. Ba is yet to be replaced, don't see Gouffran as his replacement at all frankly. If Colo or Cabaye left I would not have any confidence we have set targets lined up and acceptable bids in place. We simple take forever to get players in in a hugely uninspiring manner to save a bit more cash. As mentioned somewhere else i'm not actually sure how many scouts we have, or if its just Carr doing it all by himself.
-
Really hope he stays. I'd be far more disappointed if Hatem left than I would be if Cabaye did.
-
Should be interesting. Galatasaray are clearly better nowadays but Cardozo guarantees goals like few. I hope he stays in Lisbon but after that problem with Jorge Jesus... not likely. Bony - possible replacement. I believe he was linked to Newcastle in January. Still is, but we'll miss out coz were good at that sorta thing.

Agree there is something not right there. Last season he seemed so happy in games whereas this season, he has played with a scowl right from the start. I would love to know the reasons why because he was very enthusiastic about NUFC last year. I thought it was strange that he was was seemingly disappointed with not getting the Spurs move because in his first season we were right up there with them until the end and they just got the Europa Cup like us. Injuries, depression, the team's poor form have obviously contributed this season but I wonder if there has been a realisation that whatever vision he was sold is not the reality nor is it likely to be. However, from reading his website and the comments from his friends which he must have approved, I have always thought we were a means to gain a move to a bigger club and he does seem ambitious which NUFC are certainly not. I honestly reckon he was hoping to move that summer after we got 5th. Never happened and he's not been the same since. I like Cabaye but if he want's to go then sell him at a decent price.

Don't deny Arteta is good, but his shelf life is limited now and they need to progress. We'll see - think he'll do the damage personally.
-
What like Ramsey? An ageing Arteta? or Jack Wilshere who as good as he is is plagued with injuries already in his career. Or even better Rosicky. It's called squad depth man. I think he's fully capable to step up and his aggressive mentality is what they need if he channels it in the right manner, and personally don't think Wenger would be naive enough to play him deep and shun using his best attributes.
-
Positionally he's ok. Thats about it though.
-
Would be a brilliant signing for them.
-
Nothing materializes because he's an overrated defender that gets leaped with praise from our fans because he plays with passion and pride. When in reality and your looking from the outside, he's a clown of a centre back who still makes rookie mistakes and will never be any better than the standard he's currently at, which is average at best. Neeee chance he's going anywhere bigger than us. Aye some decent points there. Taylor aint a young player anymore but without Colo alongside him he still makes the same errors he made years ago. Its difficult to dislike him with his passion etc but he can be frustrating.
-
Injuries have stunted his progress, he can never get a settled run of games.
-
Well, if i were judging him on his surname i would think him a complete waste of a shirt. Aye me to, but a lot of our fans think Shola can do no wrong.
-
Sammy isn't a Premiership player imo but only time will tell. Could be majorly wrong here but my view is that people have high hopes for him purely because of his surname.
-
imo it's because he embodies everything that Newcastle is about. Passionate and a heart on his sleeve type bloke - if a little foolish. Exactly how Newcastle should be. We may have blown the league all them years back but I can't remember being more excited supporting the club, it eclipses Robsons era for me. Now it's the total opposite - an apathetic attitude filtering from the stands which mainly stems from the fact that the fans feel they can't win this battle with Ashley, if they complain he'll only go and pull off another stunt in his own idiosyncratic bitter way. The nostalgic feelings of wanting him back is testament the current drivel and sheer bullshit we a drip fed by the board. We're called United for a reason.

Basically underlining what a lot of us say on here. Our club is ran by utter arseholes.
