    Alan Pardew

Think his decisions have been spot on if I'm honest. Game was won, get key people off, removing the possibility of getting crocked for the next game. At this stage of the season, someone taking a whack and being out for 3/4 games wouldn't be desirable at all. Regardless of what happens in the remaining games, this season as been immense and it's in no small part down to Pardew. When CH was sacked I was fcuking raging, when Pardew was announced I was even more raging. I honestly didn't think he was the right man for the job. The whole thing was just wrong, wrong, wrong in every respect. But I remember having a chat to a friend (who also supports us) and agreeing to "judge him 12/18 months in" as he's got a long contract and he isn't going anywhere, so we'd just have to get with the programme and get behind the team because that's what real fans should do. Fast forward and here we are, unbelievably sitting in fourth with it in our hands. Incredible!! I've only just joined up on here so I know I've no history of previous positions etc, but I honestly was against him at the start. But even taking the results element out of it, I've really liked the way he's gone about his business, measured, honest, calm, and really "seems" to have engendered a terrific team spirit in the squad. That's no mean feat, given our checkered history of squabbling both on and off the pitch. I know there's a thought that we played a bit of hoofball under CH, but I really loved (and appreciated) the way that man handled himself. And as it happens, I'm glad to say that I think AP has continued in that vein (and brought some "champagne" football as well) It's refreshing and I'm happy to say I've had my mind changed and I 'm delighted about that. Alan "Pardiola" Pardew - Well done that man!!
  4. Literally, the perfect day for us. Could not have went any better. Brilliant, brilliant result. Another clean sheet, 3 more goals to the good, no injuries, happy days :D
  5. I'm getting a nose bleed, must be the altitude sickness at this height
  6. Was surprised to see him described as a holding midfield myself, have never viewed him like that. That said, you can't really describe him as an attacking midfielder either as he seem to play quite deep a lot of the time. I think Saylor said (in a Sky Sports interview) that he played almost like an American football style quarterback, which is actually a pretty good analogy when I think about it.
  7. 3 points required tomorrow lads, regardless of how we do it. Don't give a toss if it comes of a shin or the back of someones head, we just need to get the ball in the back of that net. Tbf, Stoke's away form isn't great this season so we've a much greater reward here. What are you hoping for, from the Arse vs Chelski? Personally I'm hoping for a draw, giving us the best of both world. If that happens, we've an unbelievable chance to go on and really mix it up
  8. What he said I've loved this season, as a Newcastle fan in a city with few Newcastle fans, I've had a gut full of stick of over the years, but with the exception of the odd result, it's been terrific. Strangely, the Spurs men I know aren't quite as vocal as they were after our drubbing down there. They've all gone a bit sheepish Ourselves aside, it's been a pretty good season for me, really enjoyed Swansea and Norwich (Carrow Road result aside). I think they've come up and given it a real go. I hope they both don't suffer from second season-itis. Been some shocking results this season, all over the league, so all in all, it's a thumbs up from me.
  9. If that's the new kit, it's utter gag :'(
  10. Forgot to mention the Mackems result too, the cherry on the cake Literally can't believe how this is beginning to shape up. Happy days
