Or they could all work together, egos aside. It's not all about one group amalgamating and becoming the biggest/only voice.

So it was more important to get numbers (and peoiples money) that to be honest with them about the Trusts intentions going forward? Looked that way at the time, and to see it confirmed is no surprise. Nope. We've been open and honest about the need to build the membership from day 1. The Trust doesn't run on magic beans and I can assure you if it was about money it would cost a lot more than £1 for a share and £1 a year for annual membership. We reduced the price so low because it's not about money - it's about making the Trust open and accessible to all. The money is safe - it's in the accounts - which get audited and filed as they have to. We've spent a little bit this last year or so but not much - on the work to fight the Strawberry Place developments for example but there's our finances are healthy, and safe, ready for when we need money to do things - like for example........now! Thanks for the response - my comments came from the reason I haven't joined, which was due to the fact the Trust gained lots of members at times of mass disillusionment, but is there to advocate on behalf of match-going fans, of which I feel there should be none. I hope the Trust can take a slightly more militant tone going forward. I'll watch developments with an eye open. P.s, Amanda Staveley is a member

Except that, of course, if we don't do anything then there is no chance of avoiding disappointment, but if we support NUST then we are at least in with a chance. The old "you need to be in it to win it" philosophy, which is so true! Nothing you've said has been true for a long time unfortunately.

Greg, these are my ideas: 1. Ask the CMA to investigate anti-competitive behaviour by the PL and member clubs in colluding to prevent the takeover. 2. Create a stock email that members from throughout the UK can send to their MPs asking them to support Chi’s correspondence with Masters and to support an investigation into the PL by the CMA 3. Actively engage Alok Sharma, Ed Milliband and Lucy Powell to persuade them to push the CMA to investigate the PL. be sure to point out that this issue creates a precedent which has ramifications for 90 other clubs, not just our own 4. Through the FSA engage with other supporter groups. Remind them of times that NUFC fans have helped out their clubs and then ask club groups to engage their own clubs to tell them that interfering in another club’s takeover is not cool. 5. Ask the PL whether they have investigated the information provided to them by C4 about Everton not disclosing Usmanov’s involvement in their takeover. Or any other similar post takeover O&D infringements. 6. Engage with the Chronicle to run some highly negative stories on the PL on their front page. 7. Draw up a long list of ex-players in terms of their national stature and invite them to become involved in NUST and get involved in the critique of the PL. 8. Need some sort of responsible protest. A front door boo for the PL throughout Newcastle maybe? Another one would be a citywide boycott of PL sponsors coupled with online disruption of sponsor social media activities. 9. Accept that moving forward it is going to be hard to run protests and constructively engage with PL and NUFC. Choose which you want to be and open the door for a non-affiliated group to take the other role. Just insane. I really thought the deal collapsing would break some of you from your stupors but no - you've all just leaned into it. Genuinely embarrassed to be a Newcastle fan. Fucking hell. This. It's amazing how blind people want to be to whats staring them in the face.

It's not really a closed shop at all is it? It's a closed shop to people who pirate PL games from a broadcaster who pays millions to show the games 100% correct. If they didn't pirate the games and hurt the financial bottom line of the PL then of course they'd be allowed in. That being said they have handled this whole process very badly. People on here acting like it's a big conspiracy to hold Newcastle down is a bit embarassing imo. It is embarrassing. We don't even have the full story, just Staveley's version, which is inconsistent at best. "There was no issue with piracy, but we tried to sort it anyway" being one such strange line. They must have known from the outset they wouldn't get PL approval, with them pirating games on an industrial scale and having no will to do anything to help that situation. We need to question everything we are told, as Mark Douglas says:

That's my feeling as well. Premier League aren't blameless, and their handling of the situation (particularly communication) has been awful, but they aren't the main reason this failed. The Saudis have made it impossible to wave through at almost every step, every time it seemed close something new came out. All PL had to do was say - FAIL for that reason. But no....they sat quiet for 4 months. PL are totally to blame for this farce. We don't know exactly what's happened behind closed doors, we still only have Staveley's angle and that's been shown to be unreliable. There's been a few occasions where it's seemed close then the Saudis have made another daft decision back home with the Bein situation. This.

Has Caulkin got owt right yet re. this takeover? How hard is it to understand he can only report on what he’s told. Especially by Staveley The buyers were told twice unofficially it was going to be done No - the buyers claimed that. Why would we believe them after this? Also, Caulkin was basing everything on one source - nothing to corroborate what they were telling him. And he's been made to look a fool by said source.

I don't believe a single word she says. She's probably having another curry with Mike as we speak. Also: no it's not up to the fans, it never has been and never will be up to the fans. Every quote is ridiculous ffs. Lets march on the PL headquarters or send letters, that'll do the trick. Fucking joke. Alright County Durham Sean, we get it, you don't like her. I don't believe her. Sorry that's such a problem to people like yourself, feel free to put me on ignore as I will you.
