So does that mean the Ruebens and Staveley also led everyone down the garden path? People can't handle the possibility of this being the case, but who knows.. Try to at least pretend you don't get off on this, Colin (Robinson). Just because I could see Staveley not completing a takeover, doesn't mean I wanted that to happen. It just means I'm not monumentally thick. Just look at the history of all parties involved and it should have been obvious.

It always has been, and still is wise, to assume Ashley has the power to fuck this all up. The last 13 years should have taught people this at the very least. That and that 'buying parties' cannot be taken at their word also. So whether it's Ashley or the buyers holding this up, nobody should be the slightest bit surprised.

The letter that wasn't a publicity stunt, but they felt the need to publicly announce they sent it? Well yes - you don't engage a leading football law barrister to make legal arguments on your behalf in favour of something - and then when he tells you that releasing copies of letters would undermine his correspondence and their impact rendering the exercise pointless- just ignore him and release it all for a few likes on Twitter. It was a serious question though. Has it been of benefit? It might have benefited NUST, which was surely the aim. Theres no chance its actually going to affect the outcome.

Like when they posted how the takeover was happening?

Was nice to see Ashleys club lost again when I checked the scores. Hoping not to have to want the club to lose next season. Not in the slightest bit confident that will be the case sadly.

This. And as Ben Jacobs put in one of his tweets "Sometimes I think NUFC fans just want to hear 'it's happening' regardless of truth/context" - we even had people claiming the Saudis banning Bein was positive news ffs. When you realise that Staveley's track record isn't very good, and that she has been the only one confident of this happening, then sadly this falling though has looked the most likely outcome for a while now. You don't think the other buying parties weren't confident of passing? They just thought they'd spend months of their time and significant financial outlay on a punt? Plus Ashley thought he'd entertain them for the lolz. Your hated of Staveley is mysoginistic and creepy. What was the name of the woman that hurt you so badly? Mysogynistic...at least spell it correctly if it means that much to you Why so melodramatic anyway. She told Caulkin lots of stuff, none of which has come to fruition. Me pointing that out = a hatred based on mysogynistic views I actually Googled it to check the spelling and still fucked it up You go on and on about her and find it a bit weird. Obviously she, the Reuben brothers, PIF, Ashley and whatever legal teams they use ALL thought it would proceed. She did possibly embark on a bit of brinkmanship during the 1st attempted takeover, but they are very much mutually exclusive and if this does fail, it's through no fault of her own. Same I want to like her and believe her, and I did for a bit, I've just been suspicious that her confidence may be miss-placed.

It's a strange one alright, the buyers having been so confident it would be done so long ago, then remaining supremely confident for all this time. They couldn't have been bluffing surely.

In all fairness the positive articles about with any real substance were written by Caulkin and he’s been slated for it because it hasn’t happened yet. All the other articles were just capitalising on the clickbait. Now it’s far easier for them to generate negative stories. Caulkin has shown himself to know absolutely nothing recently, he's been drip-fed vague updates by Staveley but seems to have no real understanding of or insight into the process and makes out like he's some dumb layman that couldn't be expected to understand anything when called out on it. I agree he has had a shocker all the way through as I mentioned a few pages ago I've been as negative as it gets, I wouldn't quite say he's had a shocker, but he has put all his faith in what Staveley (or her camp) have been telling him. I've been of the opinion for a long time that's not the wisest move.

Nobody really knows for sure. It's claimed (by the buying side) that's the case. If PIF haven't done enough to pass the PL tests, then yes they can do this to them. It's not even fucking them over. If the buyers are trustworthy we shouldn't have anything to worry about..

It's not a company from SA it's SA. The PL themselves described PIF as a company in SA like. whose chairman happens to be the crown prince of saudi arabia (and as far as I understand he's been making more and more decisions for the country the last few years) and its literally the public investment fund of saudi arabia how the hell can it not be considered an arm of the KSA goverment But what difference does it make if it's a company, the crown prince or the king himself! Just because bein is banned in SA, they can't own a PL club? Still a totaly different question. By blocking Bein, the value of the broadcasting rights just decreased considerably in the MENA region and they are fucking with a massive partner of the PL. Obviously the PL will take all that into consideration. Take this as me being ignorant, but is that relevant? Of course it is to the PL, but by their own OD test, is that relevant? I keep on saying this, all is well and our long dreamed of positive announcement is not (now) far away. C A L M . . .
