  1. It seems to all boil down to how reliable his sources are. It doesn't really bare thinking about about what happened 2 1/2 years ago. His source is almost certainly Stavely or someone very close to her, considering he’s the one journalist who interviewed her. Yep, it was last time also though. She led him to believe she was going to buy us, then the next thing was Ashley's "timewaster" statement. I hope its a happier ending this time. His interview with Stavely was after it had already fallen apart last time. She was Caulkins "source" throughout that whole affair, just as she is now. Ok. I’m not entirely sure of the point you’re attempting to make? My point, or my worry, is that Staveley is saying Ashley has no way of scuppering this deal now. Ashley's side have planted something via Luke Edwards that by the end of this week "something could happen" if this isn't complete. Now we hear it won't be complete this week. I hope Staveley is correct in that it is a "done deal", but we've been here so many times in the past (including once with Staveley herself), only for it to unravel. I have some doubts that it's as simple as she is leading us to believe.

  5. Yeah Pretty sure they have different departments fully staffed and qualified in their respective roles. Exactly - Caulkin spoke about an "unexpected delay" - hardly lack of staff due to Covid. You's lot are living on a different planet. Do you think the PL has a whole department dedicated to just takeovers? Do you think that would constitute an "unexpected" delay, that they only found out about last week? You lot are living on a different planet

  7. I think you made an error here somehow
  8. Not sure why it took you so long to hate Pardew.
  9. Fucking hell that's amazing. These could become collectors items for all the wrong reasons
  10. It's still an "if" at the minute. Of course no one knows how it'll be announced yet
  11. He’s not saying there *is* an issue. Just presenting a few different options for what could be causing a delay. I think people are not reading that tweet with the context of what he was replying to. He quite clearly says there is an issue which wasn't anticipated at the start of last week (when he first said it could be done by Wednesday). Like I said I'm not shitting I the bed, still expect it to go through, but aye... That quote made me think it wasn't going as smoothly as they expected. This. Staveley thought it would be done last week, she was wrong. What if she's wrong about passing? She also led Caulkin to believe she was going to be our new owner 2 1/2 years ago. Hopefully its only a week or so delay, not years this time. Is not a fakeover man stop crapping on about that will you. It's down to the Premier League nothing more nothing less. Didn't say fakeover, just that it's not complete yet. Also just reminding everyone that Staveley has told her contacts she was expecting to be our new owner 2 1/2 years ago. Hopefully she's right this time. I think you just need to chill. Wait until it’s done. You reminds me of Lee Ryder. Let's be above petty name calling to keep this thread somewhat civil. I've come to expect nothing less - it seems reminding people this isn't a done deal yet sets a few off on one.

  14. The only person at the club who would know anything would be Ashley. Caulkin (Staveley) thought it would be complete by now.
  15. Logical  I hope my joking was not lost without smileys Yep, that flew straight over my head. I had a few last night in my defence
  16. Yes and people are still buying it. Cant really blame anyone for being sceptical at the time It seems as if it's all but done right now, but somehow i still know it's Newcastle United we're talking about. I'm sure the sun will stop shining, because Covid-19 doesn't seem to be enough, even though it's insane that a pandemic is what needed to happen for it to get this far. You can be sceptical without attacking other forum members, laughing at them and saying how stupid they are. We could also go back to the numerous takeovers in the past and point out that people fell for them, but it's pointless and really rather sad.
  17. Page 122 here for the relevant info: https://resources.premierleague.com/premierleague/document/2020/04/17/049a315f-f4a8-4706-bcec-75ec9ddf7f73/2019-20-PL-Handbook-170420.pdf In short, the rules say they will give a decision (in principle at the very least) within 5 working days. No idea why it's always claimed as 4 weeks. The consortium should know the answer by now. That's after the test has been completed. There is absolutely no way you could get a test done in 5 days. It's for Directors, I deleted the original post as I realised it may not apply to the owners part. But it does state 5 days for a decision for a director in the PL handbook. The 4 weeks may be an unofficial timescale for the owners test but it's not in the handbook.
  18. IF his info has come from Ashley, would that not be a red flag to anyone? If Ashley wanted to sell to PCP and a concrete deal was done, he wouldn't be putting out noise regarding a deadline. He would have no reason to. He would simply talk to PCP and give them an extra week if PL checks are taking longer than expected. If Luke's info has come from Ashleys camp, it would appear as if he is preparing to be a cunt again if he gets the chance (ie this rumoured exclusivity period ends). He could be making it all up for the attention granted. Hopefully it turns out to be the second option.
  19. Is there any chance of NUST postponing this discussion about our new owners until we have been sold? geordie_b[/member] mentioned the organisers were expecting the sale to be complete before Monday. I know theres a possibility it could be announced Monday, but if not this just seems premature. Theres no real rush for this to take place surely?
  20. And the dozens of other fakeovers / failed takeovers.
  21. A good time for such a discussion would be when we have been sold, rather than beforehand. It's absolutely pointless unless the sale goes through.
  22. It's no wonder some people see him as a fans representative with the amount of attention people give him. Ignore the cunt ffs.
