They're worse than Ashley, but I still want them to buy the club. We can oppose things that our owners do away from football, without having to also oppose them for ruining our club and refusing to sell for a decade. I believe this is the thread for this debate also, rather than in every single thread.

The article (well, Rafa's quotes about the training ground) just confirms the fact that Ashley hates us with a passion, because we dared to call him names He was never going to run the club competently, but since Keegan left he's been actively trying to balance making money and keeping us in misery.
-
Great post, couldn't agree more.
-
This, it's short-sighted to think anything else. He's got unfinished business here, we owe him, also there could be no one better to rebuild us from top to bottom. Anyone wanting someone else has a short fucking memory like.
-
Staveley has had plenty of talks with Rafa. He's been the plan all along as he was the one who convinced her of the clubs potential. We've literally got Rafa to thank for this if/when it goes through.
-
I'm still pretty much in disbelief. Staveleys been after us for 3 years minimum, she's courted Rafa, got investors who are already heavily involved in regeneration/improvement of the area - it had taken so long I'd started to think she was a plant tbh, but those factors i've listed give me massive, massive hope for what she has planned for us. But most of all, the feeling of actually supporting my club again, is probably the most exciting of all. Also, this. Nervous and shaking for some reason.
-
This can't be real? Fucking hell  Having a club to support again when football restarts would be fucking unreal.

Starting a new thread because you can't deal with some realism, nice

Seriously, stop it with these kinds of posts. You did the same in the Transfer Rumours thread as well. Post your source when saying things like that. I didn’t have the link at hand and couldn’t remember who said. Calm down ffs there’s worse things going on than me not posting a source Kinda agree with Nobody here. Why post it at that time? Maybe post it when its fresh in your mind or later when you have a source? "There's worse things..." Is a bit of a silly response. Of course there is, there will always be "worse things" but try to understand that this is an emotive subject for many and posting something that many would be interested in with nothing behind it is going to get attention. Much like having a conversation, you don't have to blurt out every thought or memory you have. Not attacking, we are all friends here, just perhaps putting things into context Are you 2 the forum police or something? He can post whatever he likes, with or without a link. If it upsets people, then they might want to take a look at themselves, and take a step back from believing everything they read. Yes, Nobody is one of the forum police. https://www.newcastle-online.org/forum/index.php?topic=40762.0

Comes in, does a job, keeps quiet. A good professional and seems like a good egg too.

This.

Oh we're at the old "rich and famous people telling a nobody on Twitter about the takeover" stage again.
-
Absolute quality. Gotta love the people who think he costs us so many points.

I don’t understand how people ever gave him credit. It’s all down to him working in the Middle East. The chances of him coming across such high profile people were very slim. People think Dubai and the Middle East consists of a tiny village where everyone knows everyone. On top of that the chances of him meeting high profile, and then talking to him about such matters is even less likely. Let’s not forget that many dental procedures that take some time, out you into a position where you cannot actually talk. Do the Saudis offer free dental treatment on the NHS? He could quite easily be dentist to the rich and famous, kind of like a orthodontal Dr Drew. Rich and powerful people (even people who aren't rich and powerful ffs) don't tell their dentist confidential business information. He's an attention seeking fool. Sadly the press and a lot of fans are even bigger fools. Work is not the only opportunity dentists get to socialise, y'knaa. I've met more dentists at Lords than I have in any surgery. It doesn't matter who he socialises with when he thought BZG were going to buy the club. It was bullshit from the start.

Wow the PFA really are complete fucking cunts aren't they.

IF it goes though I think that's a given. I don't see it going through through unfortunately. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong.

Yeah. For example if he bought Sheffield Wednesday and turned them into a yo-yo club. I would imagine a lot of their fans would be happy with that for a while. Well they certainly would have a year or so ago before Sheffield United got promoted and took the league by storm. As it happens I like Sheffield Wednesday, I think their fans are great and it’s a great historic club and they are one of the last clubs who I’d wish Ashley upon. The thing with Ashley is though that he could very well be thinking about buying a club like them, having Sports Direct associated with them, and turning them into a club who yo-yo in and out of the Premier League. In reality though he would do things on the cheap. Once again he would have 1 person running the whole club, someone who is likely to be inexperienced. I can actually see that being his future son-in-law. I have previously warned about how he’ll take over Charnley once him and Ashley have taken all they can out of Sports Direct via ‘consultation’ fee’s. From then on a cheap manager will be brought in, and not cheap in terms of Premier League like Pardew/Bruce, but cheap in terms of Championship. Again the same will apply for the players. Theirs not a chance they will spend a decent amount of money for a proven Championship player. They will do similar to what Sunderland have done in League 1. But from a lesser league for next to nothing, and hope the players are good enough. He’ll look at Brentford and how they have brought in young quality players for next to nothing to have them competing. However unlike Brentford he won’t find the scouting network or take notice of their top targets. In reality, he could very easily turn a Championship club into a club who yo-up’s between the Championship and League One. * I use Sheffield Wednesday as an example because they are located reasonable close to Shirebrook (easy for him to attend games, especially in mid-week), and because they have been out of the Premier League for 20 years, but should probably be in it. Why the fuck would he want to buy another club when he's got the perfect club, and set of fans, already. Theres a whole stadium full of fans who are happy with that.

There's been nothing but silence from both sides during every potential takeover. This. And every time people say "the silence means somethings happening"
-
New takeover rumours every 3 months = not happening. Thought it would have been obvious by now.
-
Who exactly, thought that a takeover was going to happen like?
-
Yes lets all have sympathy for PL footballers at a time like this.
-
100%. I've met him a several times and he's a cracking fella and loves NUFC and would never have penned that article for clicks or without being given big assurances about it presumably from Staveley! Playing devils advocate here, but he's said he was holding the story back as it could damage the prospects of a sale. It is perfectly reasonable to assume his bosses have told him he can't hold it back any longer. It's not as if they have much else to print football-wise. Also, why the fuck would the PL need notifying that a deal is "close"?
