  1. It doesn't really work though. Some intellectually-challenged football fans don't make a great deal of difference in the grand scheme of things. What definitely works is if Governments around the world welcome them with open arms. And can we all please stop giving Wraith so much attention. No, it does not work, but I just ask the question why so many follow him and interact with him, is he some kind of local hero or something? Agree about governments, but that ship have sailed. Everyone wants the Saudi money. Thats fair, he's an idiot in the main. He craves attention, and gets it generally. Which is the only reason he has any claim to fame of being some sort of fans spokesman. He just needs ignoring, as hard as that may be

  3. I don't disagree with this, but would point out that the gap between the 'haves' and 'have nots' will also grow, making the sport even less competitive in future than it is at present.
  4. It would seem from noises in the press that, no, that isn't enough for them. Seems an ambitious, well-funded NUFC scares at least some of the 'big teams'.
  5. The question asked was how much do you think the potential new owners will spend not what they could spend. Anyone expecting Man City/Chelsea levels of spending will be in for a disappointment. They’ll not be spending £100m per window Plenty of other clubs spend that amount The truth is none of us know how much they'll be spending, so theres no need for anybody to go on as if they have the correct answer. No one is going on as if they have the correct answer. Someone asked the question what did people think the amount would be. Like you would on a football forum. I offered my balance opinion as I usually do on this football forum. Sounds like you think there’s no need for the forum or any offering of opinions allowed OK then, you specifically don't have any way of knowing whether what you wrote is true or not. But you said with certainty "They'll not be spending £100 million per transfer window" - seems more a statement than an opinion. They might spend that much, they might not. My point is none of us know.
  6. Another one trying to stop this happening: https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/national/18403083.government-urged-not-sit-bench-proposed-newcastle-takeover/ An MP from Sheffield...I wonder if Sheffield United is anything to do with this one. Possibly not but you never know. Had a quick search and I can't find any other examples of him being vocally against Saudi Arabia, seems a bit of a random thing to be troubling him so much tbh.

  8. This is a perfect example of how propaganda can get to someone
  9. Interesting. I think most others are more interested in going round in circles arguing the morality of it all by the looks of things
  10. No it's a complete guess, obviously.
  11. I think I'm able to detach the owners from the football in the main, this coming from someone who has been lambasting the UK for supplying arms to the Saudis for as long as I can remember - for me it is all about Ashley going, as if it doesn't happen now, it could be another 13 years or so until we are able to escape him. I'd love to have been in the position where I was opposing Ashley's business practices, whilst applauding his stewardship of the football club, but I only opposed his business practices precisely because of his handling of the club. This is a different league granted, but I'm not going to be changing my opinion on Saudi Arabia just because they may own us. However, I still want this to go through. Going off on a tangent here, and I'm no expert on the Saudi Royal Family etc, but aren't they quite feudal? This guy might not even last another 10 years without a coup, or our Government might wake up and declare them persona non grata (unlikely I know ), but what position are fans going to take in such far-fetched scenarios? I can see your point in that it is a bit like doing a deal with the devil.
  12. The wording of the Times article would suggest the PL want to block the takeover, should they be able to find any reasonable grounds to do so without comeback.
  13. By all accounts its done once the premier league say so, there's no time limit, there's no moving the goalposts. I know, it's just paranoia after so many years of waiting but I can't help it
  14. Keys is a cunt, but the shite he's talking about he has either invented in his head, or has come direct from Ashley - "I know he'd prefer the other bid", "2 weeks exclusivity left" - nobody else has even mentioned this 2 weeks exclusivity timeline shite. The only slight doubt I have is Ashley would love the scenario Keys is painting - sell us instead to some skint cunt like Kenyon and get the credit for keeping the Saudis at bay. Chances are Keys has invented it in his sick head, but I'm so used to these things going wrong I can't help have a slight nagging doubt
  15. Imagine if that ever came out though, the PL would be done. It's not worth the risk. It was kinda tongue in cheek, but he does have history of paying bribes.
  16. This BeIn Sports Chief Executive has probably sent bundles of cash to the PL in the hopes of screwing this deal...he's got form for this sort of thing. Cunt.
  17. Good article about this subject here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/harrydecosemo/2020/04/20/newcastle-united-fans-will-see-how-life-is-not-black-and-white-if-takeover-is-completed/
  18. Isn't Cronky the troll who only used to come on to slag Rafa off? Clueless. He even knows he's talking bollocks himself.
  19. There’s probably a high chance he’ll be reading this and seething at being called a cunt and not being able to do anything about it. Lets all just call him a cunt then and we can get back to talking about other things.
  20. What you on about? They're willing to accept that we like to drink so I should be willing to accept that they like to kill people.
  21. Yep, the difference in what Gregg has to say compared to Ryder before him is ridiculous
