  1. Lack of quality from Wood there, that was the fear with his signing. Joelinton - no words ffs
  2. We really have had ZERO luck since the takeover haven't we?
  3. They are there to be beaten, it's just whether we can beat them without a midfield.
  4. So Hammond lasted less than a week? Strange that we haven't heard anything in regards to what happened
  5. Not every signing is gonna be a superstar so I'm ok with this. Still hoping we sign a superstar though obviously. Would also be a great boost for the crowd if we can get someone else signed before the Watford game.
  6. I've never looked at Chris Wood and thought 'there's a player we should sign', although in truth I've never really paid much attention to the guy (or Burnley) either. I was (and still am) hoping we sign some players who are actually technically gifted, as this squad is one of the worst I have ever seen on the ball - even controlling a pass is hard for most of them. Looking at Wood's goals his touch is pretty poor (granted that's not what he's being bought for). In that respect he'll feel right at home here.
  7. Which players went straight down the tunnel then? Happy if they never play for the club again if they ignored calls to stay and applaud the fans with the rest of the team
  8. Watching this team just makes me angry. Can't imagine how Al Rumayyan feels
  9. One positive from that half is that it would have shown our owners how badly we need strengthening in front of goal.

    Kieran Trippier

    Great first signing.

    Callum Wilson

Need 2 strikers in January now then. And early January too. Gutted for Wilson, this makes things much harder for the club now.
  12. We can't catch a break. In fact I'm sure we could, just not the right kind
  13. I'm underwhelmed is all. Not saying it's a bad/disastrous appointment. Greame Jones was involved in the England set-up, so that doesn't change my mind no. It could work out great, I'd just rather we got someone like Emenalo, who by pretty much all accounts was spoken to.
  14. But someone like Emenalo knows how a massively successful club competing for trophies is set up and ran not only long term but also day-to-day. That experience can be useful if we are trying to become as big and successful as them. Similar to how Emery had experience of big clubs and winning trophies, whereas Howe has none.
  15. Underwhelmed by this. As with the manager search, we are linked with candidates who have worked at big clubs, who could use their experience to bring our set-up into the same league. Only to end up with someone for whom this is a step into the unknown. Unless the plan is to become as good as Brighton in 5 years.
  16. Very underwhelming, especially given the names we were supposedly talking to. A bit like the manager search, just more so. I'm half expecting similar in January now
  17. We gift so many easy goals, it's a recipe for relegation. I don't know if Howe is the right man to address that issue either.
  18. I mean I'm sure there's some merit in that, but we literally announced to the worlds press that Emery was signing. That was a mistake whatever way you look at it. We may have to put up with a mistake or 2 in January as the experience throughout the club just isn't there yet.
  19. We're having to make do with third or fourth choice targets, managerial and directorial. We just have to hope the consortium make the right choices from the quality of targets available to them. Think this might be similar in regards to the January transfer window also, especially without the structure of the club being built yet. We may well make a mistake ala Emery Edit - not saying Emery would necessarily have done better than Howe can, but he has more top-level experience, and was the consortiums preferred choice over Howe
