The more I read and see the more impressed I am with this guy. One thing (among many) that stands out is how he looks around and scans the field as he's about to receive the ball, and positions his body accordingly. He always seems one step ahead because of this awareness and anticipation, and knows where the runners and spaces are - compared to most of our players he'll be on a completely different planet. He also doesn't drink, goes to bed early and calls his parents twice a day - so it seems a perfect fit for the type of character we are looking to bring in. And the quote from the final about "give me the ball" - he's not here to get relegated. He's gonna be immense.

The senior source has learned not to tell the press what they think may happen, which is another positive. "God no" just doesn't fit with Eddie Howe's comments the other day about being ready to move late as things change. Or with the ambition the owners seem to be showing. Confident we are trying for something big still.

I'm fully expecting us go all out to pull off a massive statement signing today. Worst case we will get a few decent players in. Whatever happens I'm excited for the rest of the season. If we stay up imagine the summer
-
IF we sign NKetiah I'm pretty sure goals won't be the thing Eddie Howe is expecting him to add to the team. It also doesn't mean we aren't still looking to bring in a goalscorer.
-
I'm in the "we're gonna try to make another statement signing" camp too. Hopefully it comes off.
-
As others have said I love the yellow ticker at the top Nowhere near as much as I love this signing though.
-
He's no Chris Wood, that's for sure..
-
I looked at a highlights video to see what he was like....I really wish I hadn't now

This would be (gonna wait before saying will be ) the most exciting signing in nearly 20 years for me, possibly more so as it signifies the level of player we are after, and that we can attract. It's such a sea change from what has gone before for so long (Trippier excluded), and that level will hopefully only increase now.

Yeah, then imagine the buzz if we also got a surprise like Nunez
-
Don't know anything about him - a bit of a consequence of not giving much of a fuck about football for the last few years, for obvious reasons. Those who have seen much of him, who would you compare him to?
-
What the fuck is going on here? Checked this morning and it all seemed to be a goer.

Most united the clubs ever been, even the forums are united now
-
We first bid for Diego Carlos on the 6th January according to the Athletic. Seems a long time for talks to be going on, usually in this type of situation the deal will get agreed and the player will get the move. This is Newcastle though so the above doesn't necessarily apply

Even I'm happy with this I've also calmed down about Howe's nephew now too

I like the idea of having Inter as a feeder club. Would Barca be good enough to be our Spanish feeder club or should we just go for Real straight away?
-
After a win at the weekend, if we can get a couple of wins in the transfer market this week, we should be looking up the table with confidence as a squad and also as a fanbase. It could easily be so much worse right now like
-
I want to be positive about things, but this doesn't inspire confidence really
-
Massive, massive win. Only caught the last 20 but we were not conceding today...even though I think the referee wanted us to

ASM loves a moan more than I do

How much would we sell Wilson to Southampton for? And how much to Man City? I'd say he is that important to us that we would set a ridiculous price no matter who the buyer is. If they don't want to pay near to that, they can walk away. See, I think the value a club sets on their player is FAR more complicated than quadrupling the price because it's NUFC. Sure, they might up the price a bit, but clubs have been doing that to Man City for years. They still get the deals done they need to somehow though. That's where negotiating comes into play. It remains to be seen how well we are doing in that regard but it doesn't look great at the minute..

Our sources are always hopeful though
-
Whoever briefed the press that we are close to 2 signings is probably correct. Deadline day is quite close really.
-
Close to double the offer would be less than 60 million Euro, so similar to the other reports that 50 million Euro would get it done. Here's hoping
-
It makes him one of our highest paid players. I just find that a little bit grim is all
