Don't know much about him to be honest but from the clips I've seen he scores goals with his head as well as feet and has been pretty consistent - at least 10 goals a season. I'll take it.

Think it all rests on Suarez - if he goes they'll have £40mil burning a whole in their pocket. Will be gutted if Benny sold.

But their entire business model doesn't rely on getting people to take out loans they can't pay back, as is the case with payday loans companies which get 50% from their income not from interest, but from fines and charges for missing payments. Barclays charge horrendous amounts for missing payments and going over your limits just like all financial institutions. To counter balance that they also over 0% interest for 22months on balance transfers. The whole 'no interest' thing goes back to the days when there were no banks and people were lending money then expecting ridiculous sums back. But in the modern world yes you can get accounts that don't pay interest should you wish but islamic banks do pay interest. Wonga goes back to the days of when there were no banks, lending people money whilst charging ridiculous sums on interest.

Because he quite happily wore a shirt with virging money on, while playing in the barclays premier league. They're both money lenders who chatge interest. What Cisse is effectively saying is that Sharia law is ok with interest rates of less than 50%. Which is absolute bollocks. It isn't. The definition of usury differs depending on where you are in the Muslim world. Some consider any interest at all to be usury but many believe that only excessive interest is usury. Exactly. Interest based loans can be a real help for people to start businesses or buy a home. On the other hand the Sopranos version of interest where you pay the money at 100% by next week or get your legs broken is a different kettle of fish. Nail on head.

barclays are scum also, he's objecting to only one, why ? You can't compare Barclays and Wonga - they are two completely different businesses Wonga are a horrendous company and it was a sad say when they were announced as our club sponsors and I don't care for how much money. Newcastle was once a proud club MA has turned it into one of his cheap shops. Cisse is making a stand, forget what the papers say, this is more a morale stand than a religious one. It's an absolute joke the club have allowed it to get to this point. Is it too much for the Club and Wonga for that matter to show a little respect and say fair enough as a gesture of good will we'll allow you not to wear the shirt. Wonga would have had some 'good' publicity out of it and everyone would have been a winner. As it stands the club is in a mess, more bad publicity and a VITAL player unhappy and potential out of the door. And for what?
-
Wonga will be loving this the amount of free publicity they've had. I am sure in the end that is what will happen.

Lets face it there is no other explanation for it.

Would have been wasted here - Pardew would have stuck him in defense.
-
To be honest I don't think he will go. His form last year was patchy at best.

The writing is already on the wall that it'll be more of the same next year. The guy literally hasn't a clue....
-
There will be no change... Pardew is clueless...only knows how to play one way. What you have to ask yourself though is do you prefer him to Joke in ear? It's like he's waiting in the wings to pounce. I have no doubt in my mind that if Ashley hadn't given Pardew an 8 year contract Joke in ear would be our manager now.

What is your point, Sir? Time for him to be moved on?

http://www.whoscored.com/Players/12376 Cabaye plays pretty much as a DM.

Should remove Cabaye out of their equation.

Totally agree - as I've said in another thread it felt like Ruiz all over again. It's like our transfer list of strikers was one name long.
-
Kone is a decent player but this 11th hour bid - it's Bryan Ruiz all over again.
