Agreed. For me the ultimate footballer crush is/was Tim Cahill. Really disliked his bust-up with Cabaye, which he seemed to have every reason for. For a while I also really enjoyed Cameron Jerome, must have seen his one good game thought it to be representative. Yeah Cahill is another good one. Still doing the business for New York in MLS.

He is hardly unusual or uncool man! True enough.

Schweinsteiger is perhaps my favorite player to watch. Love his game.

Paulo Wanchope

Good one.

obvs haven't followed him in America but seems a really sound fella. Bit of crying during the anthem at the WC too. Having a bit of a rough go with Toronto at the moment, but Toronto is always poor. I grew-up watching him play for D.C. before he left for Blackburn, always been a consummate professional and solid defender.

Always liked Ryan Nelsen.

What is this "choice" they speak of?
-
Poyet is a risk, but has a higher ceiling than Pulis. If they're just looking to salvage the season and stay-up, Pulis would be the smart choice. Still think they'd do best to get Di Matteo, but I don't think that's an option.

Any manager they hire will have one hell of a job ahead of him. Especially considering the run of fixtures coming up for them.
-
Technically, he did run, albeit within the party. But it was definitely a harmless off-hand quip that necessitated an attempt to put Deuce in his place, no doubt.

Great. Because clearly Miami will support a soccer team this time around.

That was the Callaghan platform in '76 iirc.

How hard is it to play hoofball though?

Will Lukaku start against us on the weekend, Neil?

Mediocrity would be a step-up from the status quo for them, tbf.

What was the story with Luque? Did he fail to impress or was it just Allardyce not having a clue how to use him?
-
He's very similar IMO, with Sissoko being quite similar to Diaby although not as talented.... We need Cazorla What, a talented, creative Spaniard? Playing for Newcastle?

Arteta has been a good if unspectacular defensive midfielder since joining the league. One of those unsung players who doesn't really stick out, but whose contributions are appreciated when he doesn't play. I think Anita can be a similar kind of player in that sense.

That's quite the trio. McCarthy. http://paddytheflea.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/mick_mccarthy_anim1.gif

I'd probably put Taylor back in there with Colo. Mapou's been pretty good, though, so he'd stay in the team too at Debuchy's expense. My only hesitation would be to break-up the MYM-Colo partnership. But we really don't have much choice, as MYM is probably a better option at RB than Santon or Dummett. Has he played RB for us? A handful of times. He wasn't impressive, iirc. Seems to be a bogey position for us at the moment. My mistake, I thought you were referring to Santon for some reason. MYM played RB against Metalist for us and a few times for Montpellier before the transfer. I don't remember much of his performance.
