  1. So proud he is doing well for Man United, so important for England's chances at the WC. He doesn't like us because...because we're different http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120408115950/flightoftheconchords/images/3/3f/Albi_The_Racist_Dragon Albi
  2. Barring injuries, same line-up as Hull or Cisse dropped for Gouffran.

  4. I'm surprised we don't see more '4-4-2 diamond midfield' formations. 2 strikers, an AM behind them, LM, RM, and DM with fullbacks providing width up the flanks.
  5. Good for them. FIFA needs to be held accountable.
  6. A respectable 58 points to climb out of the gutter. No Silva and below average performances from Ivanovic and Lampard. Though I only have 1 more point than Sem's all-England get-up.
  7. Go Ivory Coast! What is your quarrel with Cisse? Also, Ghana v. Egypt Tunisia v. Cameroon Burkina Faso v. Algeria The Ghana-Egypt matches will be hot. It says so much about my physche that I am terrified of Ethiopia. We should really finish them easily, but things always end up difficult. It is a shame that either Tunisia or Cameroon will go to the World Cup. Cameroon is a shambles and Tunisia should have lost their spot to Cape Verde. Ah, tough draw for Egypt. Really pulling for them this year, but that's a tough match-up. I think Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Tunisia, and Algeria will go through.
  8. George, is Moses expected to start more often than not for Liverpool?

Newcastle have no realistic chance of winning anything either. Why do you still support them? Because that's what fans do. Club fortunes go up and down and clubs can decide their own fate with ambition and money. With a national team it's pot luck. You either have a good pool of players or you don't. I understand that international football doesn't mean much to Newcastle fans, particularly as the England team tends to ignore the periphery. That's fine, I get it. Club football isn't nearly as developed in the U.S. as it is over there. So the one team that we've grown up with, that's been a constant for years, has been the national team. This isn't an unusual phenomenon, and I'd say it's probably the norm in most countries that don't have strong club leagues.

This is sure to be wildly unpopular, but I'm a U.S. fan before I'm a Newcastle fan.

In which case you need to follow another team. Thanks Inochi.

And underrated by some due to his nationality (and choice of club). It's impossible for many Toon fans to be objective when it comes to Sunderland (and American players).

It's most important for me that he continue to play at a high level for the national team. So whatever he needs to do at Sunderland to stay in good form, so be it. Despite not scoring yet in league play, he's still playing well for club and country.

We'll see I suppose. I have no illusions about him being a world beater, because he's not. But he's clearly not a bad player, as many here say he is. Most of whom are basing their judgments on how he played for Hull, as a 19-year old, and who haven't seen him play since then.
