  1. The PL lawyers will be important in the decision and for me it hinges on PIF being a separate legal entity. So we are screwed then Nope, there’s already legal opinion that it is a separate entity, however that could also be for a court to decide should it get that far.

  3. If it’s a fail, there’ll be an appeal, if that fails I would think potential legal action. It could go on a bit longer. Just a thought, but given that we doubt the PL would announce anything and that any announcement would come from PIF, how do we know we're not already into the appeal stage already? After all, given how long it has gone on.... Then we could be heading to the Courts if there’s another knock back.

  5. It will also depend on how much the government have nudged or leaned on the PL given the billions they spend in the UK. Some might not see that as a factor, however it will be.
  6. Any announcement will come from PIF, I don’t think it’ll be the PL.
  7. They will have to show that PIF, a separate legal entity, were involved in piracy, if the can’t then the takeover will go through. what are you basing this confident post on? Read the last couple of paragraphs of this report. https://www.footballlaw.co.uk/articles/newcastle-united-fc-takeover-and-the-premier-leagues-owners-and-directors-test there's a lot of sense there, however it kind of ignores that the PL are allowed to reject "if they believe" (or words to that effect) that an applicant is guilty of something and the massive unknown here is just what pressure/influence exactly qatar is throwing at this...PL execs will be as corrupt as anyone else, if they're being bought off then that'll be that fwiw i've always thought they'd approve it and still do Surely if you believe something it has to be based on something and they’d have to give their reasoning. That may well lead to the UK Court action by PIF. I think it’ll be approved to, it would appear that the government don’t want the Saudi’s pissed off given they spend billions in the UK every year. I’m sure the PL are being leaned on a little.
  8. Isn't It because it can be appealed when published? In which case they wouldn't be able to use the judgement... So does that mean the whole report is meaningless to this takeover ? If so why wait for it at all? Well depending on what the report says I guess it could be used to block the takeover, if that's what they wanted. Personally, I think there is a lot of truth in the talk of negotiations between the PL, SA and Qatar on dealing with the protection of Beins broadcasting rights If an agreement is reached, then there isn't really anyone else the PL need to be concerned about. The report can then be published but hopefully a resolution would already be in place and no appeals. If no agreement, then the PL could use the report as they deem fit. Who would they appeal to? The WTO Court of Arbitration isn’t quorate so not sitting. They can still appeal can't they? It just won't be heard until they are sitting. Obviously I don't really have a clue They can, however its Trump who is holding the process up as he refuses to nominate US representatives, he’s objecting to his perceived awareness that the WTO favours China. It only takes one country to object and Trump is. Mind I’m no expert on the WTO it’s what I’ve read online.

  12. I think i need to go back to bed I read that as Amandas flaps flowing in the breeze.
  13. I'm thinking the latter. You do get the sense that things have been stalled in line with this WTO release. I guess we’ll have to wait and see ? It still all depends on the legal status of PIF being a separate entity, if, and it looks like they are a separate entity, then it should go through. It’s worth reading the legal opinion of a barrister, not the entire report, the conclusion. Mind it’s only a legal opinion but has much more substance than claims on here that it’s part of the Saudi state. https://www.footballlaw.co.uk/articles/newcastle-united-fc-takeover-and-the-premier-leagues-owners-and-directors-test That last bit. ∆ On 2 June 2020 Qatari- and Saudi- based lawyers provided confirmation to this author that KSA PIF is a separate legal entity. Ultimately that’s what it’s all about.

  15. What game on Wednesday? Clearly the “filth” know something we don’t.
  16. hadn't realised Ashley had killed a man or ran an illegal streaming service. Neither have the PIF directors, the Reubens, or Staveley. Although Amanada is up in court so count vouch 100% for her, but I don't think she has. PIF directors have absolutely killed thousands of people Tedious, if the takeover goes through I trust you won’t be going to games then? I only show up when blatant lies are reported as fact. This isn't the propaganda thread btw mate, there's a positive news thread if that's all you want to see. I've already answered your question about 5 times so look it up Oh, I’ve never asked you the question before so an answer would be nice.

MbS is the chairman of PIF, he's the de facto head of state in what is one of the few remaining absolute monarchies in the world. You’re posting in the wrong thread, try this one. https://www.newcastle-online.org/forum/index.php?topic=104068.0
  19. Sounds ominous. They wouldn’t discuss anything about the takeover etc with a fans group
  20. If an appeal body can’t overturn a report what’s the fucking point of having an appeal body?
