Who has the Yao cliff picture? I'd imagine it sums up most people's feelings right now

I don't think it's been that apparent he was so motivated by money, any more than any footballer really. He's point blank ignored QPR once, so you have to believe that they've significantly increased the deal on offer. Perhaps offering some kind of significant bonus for securing their safety. We're absolutely right to stick to our guns and leave the terms he accepted on the table. Our current wage structure is ample enough to secure players like Cabaye, Debuchy, Cisse and Colo. However good this lad is, I don't think he's worth more than any of those - at this point in time. Agree with that; the club are pretty much faultless in this whole thing imo. However they deserve every bit of flack they'll receive if a different striker doesn't arrive in the next fortnight. All of this. Makes me wonder what QPR fans make of it though, player laughs them off then u-turns the next day after apparently being shown the moneyz, might not be the type of player you want when you are fighting relegation. Just like the rest of their players tbh. I don't think they'll care a jot if it works. First thought once I had pressed post is that actually, they'd already be used to it.

Like Carrick, Barry, Allen, Lucas, Arteta, Osman, McCarthy, Britton etc etc? Tbh the DM position doesn't exist in most teams in teams in this country anymore.... you have a deep lying playmaker and a b2b midfielder with an attacking midfielder or advanced playmaker infront of them. Man Utd don't play with one, City don't ( well sometimes they do but first choice is Yaya-Barry), Liverpool don't, Arsenal don't, Everton don't, Swansea don't etc etc. We are one of the few teams that do. Was watching Swansea a couple of weeks ago and thought he'd be perfect for the Britton type role, intercepting, hassling players and playing it forward.

Thought exactly the same.
-
Oh this can fuck right off.
-
Demba is still going to score a shedload for Chelski like, could have have two goals and a palanty since coming on.
-
Thought it was a strange one too, all other transfers going in around that time were all saying they'd be available to play.
-
Yeah sorry about that, not normally me tbh You'd have thought I'd have stopped being so naive after following NUFC for so long, but you are probably right, if either of those got injured today we'd be up shit creek without a paddle. Learned to agree with your view on Demba ages ago though, it's a shame that these people play such a large part in something we have such an emotional investment in, but I can't really jump on the bandwagon and call people greedy bastards for wanting to earn more money, i'd be doing exactly the same. His hangers on can get fucked though, he's probably made a few people with little discernible millionaires with his moves around, I'd love to be a fly on the wall in negotiations

SSN giving it to Mata, Press Association giving it to Ba apparently.

Being Shola must be like winning the lottery like. inexplicably playing at your boyhood club for 12 years, picking up more money each week than many people watching on will be making in a year. No wonder he's always smiling.
-
What I meant though was that if Colo and Cisse were both left at home because they were injured, who else could we actually have brought in? I may be being a spaz here but apart from Krul and Marv, possibly Fergie, that was the strongest squad that was actually available to us today? Worrying.
-
Who else could have come into the starting lineup today btw? Krul and Marv and it would have been our strongest team?
-
Bet he's got a massive dong as well. Some bastards get all the luck.
-
Aye he did his best Shola impression at first What Poot said though, gutted.

Am I the only one who thinks Cabaye could be a box to box midfielder? I think it is more to do with the way the team is set up rather than what he is actually capable of. He can put in a decent tackle, break up play and apart from Ben Arfa he's probably our most creative player going forward, and he's got a great engine on him.
