Ridiculous that this Dortmund game is on at all
-
Bernardo Silva is unreal
-
Obviously a terrible reason for the game to be called off, but games at 5:45 and 7:45 tomorrow
-
Wasn't it his own decision? I read somewhere that he basically wanted to leave because he felt Barca didn't really want him and were writing him off the last few years he was there
-
Who would've thought letting Dani Alves go in favour of playing Sergi Roberto at right back was a bad decision
-
Third brilliant chance Messi has created
-
He can't dominate these games like he used to IMO but he's still created two brilliant chances
-
Wouldn't be surprised if Bayern did the same to Real tomorrow night
-
What's gone on at Dortmund?
-
Both Ritchie and Townsend work very hard tbf
-
Dortmund Monaco will probably be great but it has to be Juve-Barca
-
They've a better team than West Brom IMO who are 8th

They spent an absolute shit-ton this summer on Xhaka, Mustafi & Perez. Their wage bill is very similar to the clubs you mention. Spending the money is really not their problem any more, it's the decision-making both behind the scenes and in the dugout. The number of players they have going out of contract soon is frightening. Something very weird has been going on. One summer doesn't make up for all of the summers where they didn't spend, they had to spend that sort of money last summer as they will have to this summer as this is where the bar has now been set. Out of the 3 signings you mention only Mustafi appears not to be a mistake with the other two being questionable at best. Clearly many things are wrong at Arsenal but I don't think it's all down to Wenger personally. But then again everyone at Arsenal are far too scared to come out and tell the fans hey we are actually perfectly happy with getting in the champions league and actually have no intentions of spending the required funds to compete for the league. Arsenal haven't been the same since David Dein left. Mustafi is the biggest failure out of those three IMO. Got absolutely destroyed by Benteke tonight, although being beside Gabriel doesn't help. Perez hasn't been given much of a chance and I think Xhaka would look good alongside a strong, athletic player. It isn't as simple as spend loads of money, win the league either. I think a lot of clubs in the Premier League have abandoned real scouting to a certain extent in favour of just spending loads of money on well known or international players.

He's done fuck all for most of the game tbf
-
Twice I've gone onto paddy power to put money on Palace to score next and twice I've been too late
-
I'm actually not sure Arsenal's team is that much better than Palace's
-
Benteke is absolutely dominating the Arsenal centre halves
-
I think Xhaka could come good next season, has picked out some nice passes here
-
Last few months he's improved a ridiculous amount like. Kept Pardew in a job for ages as well
-
Gabriel is so weak
-
Nobody has responded to him seriously
-
Most of the ones I heard thought we'd win the league at a canter

I'm not disputing that at all. My frustration is with the people saying he shouldn't have been hired in the first place when you lok at all the bullshit hires going around the big four leagues. Eh? This whole thing started with you saying you hope they go down for how they treated him. That they looked hopeless with him in charge? They did. But he only had 11 games, and shit players. They still have shit players, and their new manager isn't doing much of a better job making them perform. The matches I've watched with Swansea this season they basically look just as hopless now as they did under Bradley. They should've given him the window, sacking him after eleven games was nonsense - and it came about due to fan pressure due to him being American and the media hating Americans saying soccer. If performances were encouraging and results were decent, his nationality wouldn't have mattered. Silva was treated similarly when he arrived and proved them all wrong quickly
