The thing about his age and comparing him to what other strikers were like at his age is valid but we can't just keep him here for years in the hope he suddenly turns into a top striker

I think clubs just view it as more hassle than it's worth until it gets to the quarter final stage or so. They'd rather try and fluke their way into getting that far than actually taking it seriously in the early rounds

And Rafa's approach hadn't been remotely similar and he could very well have runs to the League Cup QF & FA Cup 5th round with a Championship side.
