It’s only 50k per week, if he’s on 3m per year and we’ve offered double that puts him in line with our top earners which is what I’d expect. If the numbers are true it makes sense.

We do, the only player we’ve tested the water with in this manner is Maddison but even then, our offers were both fair and made sense (player contract expiring and his club struggling). The reported approaches for both Tonali and Barella don’t make much sense so I expect the leaks are incomplete and driven by certain agendas.
