Absolutely, you sell your best players, and thus you can no longer compete and drop back, your revenue drops and the cycle continues. All whilst the so called big 6 grew prior to these ridiculous restrictions.
-
Your basically telling the squad we can’t do anything to improve, hardly a good message to send to some of the ambitious lads we have.
-
Even if true, he’s better off not saying it imo. Our own players will start to question these statements.
-
The spuds for van de ven for what? 35m Howe has made Jamal into a class act, I think it’s the one area with a stable set up where we can stretch our money.
-
Isak is irreplaceable. Losing Bruno will hurt but Is manageable but the midfield will need a total rethink.
-
You mean loan? Reckon we will end up with Kalvin P, I’m just hoping we dodge the obligation.
-
We can’t, FFP. Those low hanging fruit sponsors we inexplicably didn’t take are really hurting us now.
-
Good luck finding a replacement forward of his quality with FFP restrictions.
-
I don’t think most members want to get rid of FFP or FMV let’s remember they are the ones who actually came up with these rules and implemented them. Our best hope is someone like Everton gets punished heavily and challenges the whole thing whilst we wait on the sidelines. I think levelling the flaying field is good, but that’s what it has to be. If Chelsea are allowed to spend 1b so should everyone.

I’m not saying we should be the ones to challenge it as it’s a really bad look for us to be the ones imho. that being said, if it were challenged and over turned then the league couldn’t just keep putting in place anti competitive rules as they would suffer exactly the safe fate. We will get there as long as the owners are onboard long enough for us to do so, we need them to either challenge it or dig in for the long haul because ultimately it our competitive advantage is being state owned and the ability to leverage this to get sponsors we wouldn’t otherwise be able to. We have a very significant gap to bridge and in order to do so full commitment is required from all of them.
-
Yeah no point to compare with them, they got in when it was the Wild West, now it’s a stitch up.
-
I think we are in a good place with wiggle room on the wages front considering our increased revenue to come. it just goes to show what a massive red herring the previous figure of 90% was. People loved beating us with that without engaging the brain.
-
Reckon it’s credible? The source that is?
-
Nobody has had a reason to challenge it until now, also it’s important to remember that all of these members clubs voted for these rules. Obviously now the ownership of the league has evolved and we have some ambitious owners like ours Forest and Villa. A lot of the owners are in it to make money so if they can cap the amount they have to spend they are absolutely over the moon. If they can increase the gap to the champo even better because they I can ride the gravy train and watch the 3 newly promoted clubs to back down. Ive mentioned before but we really need clarity on what’s the purpose of FFP. Is it to protect clubs from going bust? Or is it to level the play field? Right now; it’s not performing either of these roles, and its function is to protect the established elite.

If we must sell one of Crown Jewels which is obviously ridiculous but the order I would do it in is Botman, Bruno Isak. Botman should be the easiest to replace. Selling Bruno means a change in system as he is the glue which holds it together. Isak shouldn’t be sold unless he wants to leave. Strikers are very difficult to replace and a shortage exists given the daft money Manchester red spent on someone totally unproven and the fact both Arsenal and Chelsea are in desperate need.
-
He’s irreplaceable, selling him would be such a mistake.

Chelsea now using Strasbourg to circumvent FFP…

We are going back to one game per week. No worries about him breaking down at this stage. Plus Barnes will be back in a couple of weeks, plus when Wilock returns big Joe can also play there.
-
Let’s not push Our best striker to the flanks.
-
I can assure your most clubs are very happy with FFP. only those with rich owners who have ambition to challenge don’t like it. The rest love the status quo.
-
I don’t have any expectations, we’ve made in our bed in the summer and now are being dictated to. we can’t rewind the clock and hindsight is 20/20. although, I must admit if everyone agrees we’ve what I’ve said I’m not sure what we are debating?
-
To be frank, and I know this isn’t a popular take but we aren’t really are we? Again, from the media takes we are getting we are actively sitting on our hands waiting for nearer the end of the window to maybe hopefully get a loan for a player who hasn’t played much in the last two years. Please do correct me if I’m wrong but we don’t appear to be in a hurry. Make of that what you will.

Im not critiquing anything, what I said is more of a statement. Personally I’d prefer we do nothing rather than get in short term fixes at some expense.
