  1. I remember Ba doing well in the position out on the left, but personally i remember myself and quite a few others thinking that in the longterm we'd like to see another player in that position who's better with the ball at his feet.

We've got that in Remy...who needs new signings then

Yes, but ideally i would like to play Remy as a CF. And get another player for the left forward role and one as backup for Remy and Cissé. A young and hungry one..

So you'd like a new winger (not Ba), Remy CF and Cisse on the bench?

Given Cisse's form would anyone want him starting?

We did well enough with Ba and Cisse two seasons ago. Besides, there is no need to start every striker in every game. This is a concept Pardew never grasped previously, and if he wants more striker options he needs to get it into his thick skull now.

Fair point mind I should rephrase then.

I don't think Cisse should be our main striker

  2. In all honesty: Ben Arfa - Ba - Rémy is a top four quality forward line-up.

It sucks that they'd be managed by a League One manager.

So the two on loan get in the side ahead of our number 9 striker...sure he'll be pleased. Great management.

I think we should sell our number 9 if he can be replaced of course.

Cisse is just too 1 dimensional sadly.

  3. @lee_ryder 1m

#nufc aren't trying to sign both Gomis and Ba. The pair have just emerged as targets from a transfer meeting yesterday involving Kinnear

So what appeared after that p*ss up in France last week? Useless w*****s!

We must have more "transfer summits and monitoring of players than anyone else... ever!

  5. Meanwhile, Fellaini and Baines continue to play for Everton despite 2 bids from Manchester United being rejected.

Meanwhile you continue to ignore that Cabaye has wanted out all summer unlike those two. Unless you think Pardew and just about every French journo around are all lying its a totally different situation altogether.

This is maybe true but we can't forget that the club have been actively looking to sell him all summer too.

You dont think there is a connection in there at all? Its hardly out of the box thinking

Connection or not it doesn't matter.

The club could have just came out and said Yohan Cabaye is not for sale any price.

At the end of the day, the only way Cabaye can leave is with the clubs consent.

Erm what box are you looking at?

Player tells manager he wants out amid rumours big clubs want him. Manager tells owner that he could make big money, owner tells manager that he would only be given something to spend if it happens(looking pretty likely atm). Clubs with money want him so we set a price, manager touts him about as player wanted and therefore both parties win. Or if nobody will pay the fee then we win.

Both versions of events happen but us being the weak pathetic club we just roll get over on our hands and knee's and the spread the cheeks.

So in your eyes the answer is something that this club has never done before? f***ing hell you really want us to fail inventing s***

Have you ever actually considered that regardless of intention saying someone not for sale is the right way to go.

We are struggling to get 20million out of the richest club in the league for our best midfielder because we've been hawking him about all summer.

Pardew's comments such as: "We'd be powerless to refuse a big offer" just puts it out their the fact he's for sale. We all know this is the case there is no need for him to open his stupid mouth.

 f***ing hell, you think other clubs cant see the summer long quotes from French journo's saying the player wants out? You think they invented them for no reason? No his agent or maybe himself for all we know has told them and its incredibly stupid/naive to think the same wouldnt happen with his availability at the right price.

If you genuinely believe he is worth £20m after last season then great, however its looking more like you want yet another reason to beat the club with as if that well was dry.

As a fan why would i want to beat the club?

All I'm saying is we should take a firmer stance what I believe he's worth isn't even relevant the clubs valuation of him is what is.

Is Gareth Bale worth 100million? No of course he isn't but logic doesn't come into such things brinksmanship does.

You seem determined to think we will f*** it up without any proof that we will. We have taken a firmer stance, seeing as both clubs are unwilling to get close to our value that we havent budged on what else do you want?

Bale is a terrible example seeing as Madrid are batshit crazy so will pay £90m or whatever(even ignoring the obvious ie age, quality, form differences with Cabaye)

We can't even arrange a proper pre season tour and put gates in front of a brick wall, I can't say such things inspire me in confidence.

PSG aren't batshit crazy as you put it?

The cat is out of the bag, everyone know's we want to sell so they low ball. It's exactly the same Tactic Mike Ashley uses isn't it?

Sounds about right. I don't think we've been actively looking to sell Cabaye until he's made it clear he wants to leave. We'll find out just how desperate we are to sell if he goes for less than £15m, which is a fair price IMO.

Totally agree, said last week €18m was a great price.

18million euro is not a good price in this market.

    Imperative that we keep him.

Not going to happen sochaux can't afford his wages

  13. To replace Götze? I know they signed PEA and Mkhitharian (?!!?!?). But Kagawa is a better player than both by a few miles centrally.

Maybe I rate Kagawa too highly, but for me in his position he's one of the absolute best in the world.

You do Rate kagawa to highly

  14. Sorry if already posted;

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has insisted he will put the club before Yohan Cabaye.

France international midfielder Cabaye, 27, was the subject of a rejected bid of about £10m from Arsenal and has yet to play for the Magpies this season. Pardew declined to confirm whether or not Cabaye refused to play in the first two games of the season against Manchester City and West Ham but said he will play no part in Wednesday's Capital One Cup second round tie at Morecambe.

Pardew said: "The answer isn't as simple as a 'yes' or a 'no'. The answer is he is either going to be sold and we are going to have to replace him in the window that we have left, or he's going to stay.

"But I, as the manager, have to protect him and protect the football club, more importantly. The first thing on my agenda is the football club, trust me, and that will always come first while I am the manager here."

I know Pardew gets some heat but I trust him to sort this situation out.

Colo wanted away. Colo is still here and playing.

To be honest i think that had very little to do with Pardew,

    Colo had 4 realistic options.

Hand in a transfer request: No point in him doing this as San Lorenzo couldn't afford him even if they wanted to.

    Do nothing: see above

Retire from football totally, which means we hold his registration so he can't play for them.

Buy out the remainder of his contract: Again this would have cost him millions of pounds to do so.

Right, and Cabaye has the same options.

Where Pardew deserves praise is bringing Colo back into the fold. It could have dragged on and on like Tevez at City, but it didn't.

Pardew had no choice, besides Colo didn't go on strike or anything stupid like that.

Players are assets on a balance sheet no more.

  16. Back line should honestly be un-changed -- Colo and MYM need to continue to build that understanding together. he should bring in Dummett in and having either Santon or Debuchy playing RB.  Midfield should still be Anita and Sissoko central to further build their partnership, with Marv/Gosling or Vuc playing ACM. I'd also consider starting Cisse and Gouffran with Sammy out wide.

    This is a good shout:

    My team would be :

                          Krul

    Santon    Colo    Yanga  Dummett

                  Anita  Moussa

    HBA                Marv          Sammy

                          Gouff

I think this gives us a good balance of giving some youth a chance whilst also getting the fitness levels to where they should be as well as building some understanding.

I would give HBA a rest and give Bigi a place in the side somewhere. Still more than enough firepower in there to see off Morecambe. Infact I'd probably put Gosling in there as well instead of Sissoko if we want to keep him fresh for Fulham.

I think Hatem needs games personally.

I'd like to see Moussa and Anita  build a partnership in midfield, it's the 3rd game of the season man no need to be resting players at this stage.

As for Gosling i wouldn't have him near the side

United are hopeful of finally landing a striker in the next six days and The Journal understands they have identified a Ligue 1 target who fits the bill.

The player is not understood to be Marseille’s Andre Ayew, who Kinnear watched over the weekend.

    Yet another Frenchman in seems.

More wish washy statements i see.

we are only hopefully it's remarkable how often the goalposts move at SJP

  19. What's also absurd about the way he raved about our defensive show post match (because quite frankly he was grasping for anything positive to squark about) was that Nolan was unmarked for a free header and should have scored and twice West Hame punted the ball down field only for the ball to bounce in the pen area and a couple near misses again for West Ham. Top defending my arse.

The folly of the Arsenal bid too. For weeks he was going on about speculation being great for Cabaye's ego, talking it up then suddenly a bid comes in and the bloke is mentally crippled. Honestly you couldn't make it up

Aye only at NUFC does such nonsense happen.

That Mag article read as if Pardew had written it himself.

  20.                           Krul
