  1. And to those saying we have a poor/overrated team lets have a look at a potential first team:

                                  Krul

    Debuchy        Colo          Mbiwa          Santon

                                  Anita

                      Cabaye      Moussa

    Ben Arfa                                            Remy

                              Cisse

    Subs:

    Elliot

    Taylor

    Dummett

    Tiote

    Marveux

    Gouffran

    Jonas.

That's a top 10 team at the very worse.

  2. I don't think the world cup has much if anything to do with Cabaye wanting to leave. He was s*** for much of last season and they still picked him, and anyway if he went to Arsenal he risks not playing. Or at least reduced minutes.

The damage was done last summer, in my opinion. Cabaye thought we were gonna push on, like we all did, but we've shown no ambition at all and have in fact regressed. So he's jumping ship and who could blame him?

Most newcastle fans will blame him sadly and totally overlook the factors in him wanting to leave.

  3. I find it insane that people think that our serial failure would do better if he could buy his own players, it hasn't really helped him in the past.

It's as if some people have never heard of Pardew before he came here.

You find it insane to suggest Pardew "would do better" (your words) if he could buy his own players, really? Last summer he asked for a full back and got a dimunitive defensive midfield player unsuited to his preferred style of play and who he clearly still doesn't rate or trust. This summer he has asked for Premiership experience and has mentioned specific names: Carroll, Bent and Downing. All players who were available and have transfered from one club to another. The Bent saga specifically suggest we were never seriously in for him. The club is deliberately ignoring his requests and going for what they perceive as bargains regardless of position and fit to the manager's style of play. Under these conditions, how can you be surprised the manager fails? If it was the other way around, i.e. we had Laudrup as manager but only bought Stoke type players, I'm pretty certain you would see the point I'm trying to make..

He's got his fullback in January and he's made him into one of the worst full backs in the premier league.

The facts just don't bear it out sadly the man is full of shit.

  4. He should do miles better with the players available to him, howay.  There are a few positions where we're not too strong but that's no excuse for the s**** served up.

Exactly with the squad we have I'd expect a top 10 finish personally

  5. Luke Edwards on Talksport

    http://talksport.com/football/edwards-newcastle%E2%80%99s-lack-transfer-activity-13082256836?

According to him Pardew can't be judged unless he gets the players he asks for  :iamatwat:

It's like last seasons dross, a season long dross is not his fault at all.

He must Wine and dine Douglas, Edwards and Ryder every night.

Well i don't really remember one journo or tv pundit saying it as it is. And surely the way we play football is what their supposed to be talking about.

Yea, I'm quite shocked how little press attention our terrible football gets actually.

I almost pissed myself when I heard Neville and Carragher say we were going to "go for it" on monday night.

  6. 'We have to react to the market. If we were Man City and need a striker, we just go out and pay £37million for one and everyone else has to react on the back of that.'

'If we were to sell one of our big players, which would generate funds, we might split it into two and use the finance to replace him and strengthen in another position.'The bottom line is that we have a procedure in place to get transfers in and now Joe is directly the in-line manager for the board and Mike, the owner, so therefore I request to him what I think the team needs and he has to try to get them over the line. We all work together to do that.'

'There is a process where he comes in but the proof is in the pudding really and we have to make sure we get one or two transfers over the line before deadline. This has been a particularly poor week on a number of levels. But you get that. Sometimes adversity comes, so let's get it out of the way, let's sort ourselves out and make sure we are ready to rumble in the 37 games left.'

Are these the quotes which are meant to get us all in a twist?

    Not Shields Gazette

    Thank you kindly sir

  8. I was alluding to Jonas actually  except he offers a lot more going forward.

I remember Baba saying Andre Ayew is everything you wish Jonas was a year or so ago and he's right tbh.

Offers everything that Jonas does from a defensive point of view, but so much more going forward.

    Would be a quality signing.

Know nowt about him but doesnt seem to get many assists? Just 5/6 in the league from his last 90+ games. We could do with some creativity, we already have a strong finisher we cant get near the ball.

Something we are seriously lacking, is a goal threat down the left. Jonas is so poor attacking wise, i'm certain a lot of managers will have a decent RB who they will know will be able to deal with him easily.

It wasn't that long ago Jonas and Enrique were our primary force going forward, making our left side very dangerous.

That was more Enrique being able to get forward overlapping Jonas who would drop back in. With Santon tending to cut in, we have nothing out wide on the left at all.

Call me old fashinoned by i want my LW/LM to be more dangerous and advanced than our full back. The FB supporting him and sometimes getting more forward, but mainly helping the LW/LM attack.

    Old Fashioned  :cheesy:

In my eyes you can approach the solution in two viable ways:

The first is what Bimpy said.

The second is to have an attacking wingback ala Roberto Carlos and someone cutting in from the left trying to score and create goals.

We take the not viable third option which is playing with a fullback who cuts inside and a defensive winger who offers nothing going forward and not much from a defensive aspect ie he can't tackle, isn't good positionally, doesn't read the game well etc.

  9. Will never ever move forward with this chump.  Only way is a hope someone would buy us (Not likely at his valuation), or, the fans starve the club of any money until he lets it go to cut his losses.

Awful situation to be in, but sometimes you need to go backwards to go forwards.

It all comes down to one unified group of the different factions to come together and organize a proper game plan and promote a way of starving Ashley of his investment but as the Labour club meet proved it changed nowt .

Yes as a fan base we lack unity and can't agree on collective action.

A lot of people believe Ashley did us a massive favour but even if you believe this how long can you continue to bow down to this school of thought and continue to show gratitude when he continually takes the piss?

  10.                                   Krul

    Debuchy    Yanga        Colo        Santon

                    Cabaye        Moussa

    Ben Arfa                  Marv                Gouffran

                                    Cisse

Lots of pressing and playing a high line

If Cabaye is "ready" to play and Santon is fit I'd love to see that lineup but I doubt either will make the cut.

That's a nice line up, far too attacking for Pardew i would think though.

Your spot on mate its far too attacking because Pardew only knows how to contain the opposition by sitting back and not getting tight.

I watched villa last night and they got it right pressed aggressively and got tight giving Chelsea a hard Time to break them down.

Yeah, i was watching the Spurs game thinking, if we had took the lead we would have sat back and made them look good. Spurs just buried them.  I wonder what Pardew thinks when he's watching other games, he's not daft and he must enjoy watching teams play well. Why he then gets us to play the way he does just baffles me.

Also managers watch games back on video later. Does enjoy watching us play the way we do when he's not on the touchline when it can appear different. How can he just continue with the same stuff he himself must see as poor.

    Really enjoy your posts bimpy

I've no idea what Pardew thinks to be honest.

Given the things he says though maybe its a case of negative thoughts = negative actions?

  11. At least the Bale move will free up the market, we was stuck because of it. Said Alan.

Lol im sure he will have another excuse waiting in the wings.

You know what folks? I think we've finally found something Alan is good at

Tbf to him, whenever he's asked about transfers he tries to say something, as we've seen it's utter nonsense. I still dont know why he just doesn't say, ask Joe. Then leave it at that.

Because Joe says the same things as Pardew 3 in by Friday and we are going go sign 3 strikers.

Pardew just does a good PR job by talking about we are still in the market biding our time because he knows that if he speaks honestly and talks frankly about our business being done their will be a rebellion and a mini boycott

Cabaye is fine it's Pardew  doing the flapping of the gums.

As for santon I don't know but I'd happily see Dummett pick up from where he left off.

  14. Would be mental to swap Mata for Rooney and some cash on top of that.

Not if you already have Oscar, Hazard, Willian, De Bryune and Schürrle.

But Mata is arguably the best of them.

    I would argue the same.

But who know If I were Arsenal I'd be throwing some Money Chelseas way for Mata.

Possibly Real Madrid too if they sell Benzema and Di Maria.

  15. We don't have to offer anything to make him stay, he's already agreed to his current contract.

As you say though, we might want to sell if the price is right.

I think he was sold a different vision that what he's seeing though. I bet he was promised signings and progression on the pitch, not the tight fisted nonsense we've had. Doesn't excuse not playing mind.

This is exactly why Jose Enrique left.

When we signed him we told him we'd be challenging to play Champions League football.

    Instead we got relegated  :mike:
