He said it was par. Why is he so thrilled with a season which is par then? Clearly a WUM We've beaten Chelsea at home, Spurs away and Man United away. I'd say most are pretty thrilled with those results. And overall we are par for the course which shows we've dropped points where we shouldn't have. Not to mention the awful performances in the cup & the less than thrilling football. As I've said If we aren't going to compete for trophies cant' we at least try and play some attacking exciting football?

@ Haris thinking Top 10 with our squad is some major achievement.

Few weeks ago against Palace. Not many teams have managed to do that to them but we did. Palace ffs. Big deal one of the worst sides in the league. See just brushed off because it's only Palace Even though no other team has done that to them, it's still only Palace. So that's one of the smaller clubs he's beat and he can't win, then he beats Chelsea and still doesn't win the praise. Opposite ends of the scale, same result for him. Not at all. As I've said countless times that's what I expect us to do against newly promoted sides, I expect us to try and boss the game and create chances against them because we are better than them. Pardew rightfully got credit from everyone when we beat Chelsea and Man U.

Only Brett and his cousin

Or when the haters accept it was their tactics he won with Relying on individual brilliance is some tactic brett. Nice deflection though. He's had some brilliant tactics this season, he's had some s*** ones, all part and parcel of being a football manager. End of the day his good or bad tactics have us in a solid league position with a nice points total 6 points off a champions league spot after the half way stage. Can go into detail and say he's beat the good teams then lost against the poor and all that but it doesn't matter who you pick points off as long as you pick them up. Suarez has scored majority of his goals against the bottom half sides, does it matter he hasn't scored agaisnt the big ones? No because he's still picked up an impressive amount of goals. So if we have an impressive points tally off the top and not the bottom, as long as the overall points tally is impressive that's the main thing. We play dour boring football with the most generic tactics possible. If we are playing a bigger side than us we'll sit back for 70 mins and keep it tight and try nick it with a bit of magic later. Against smaller times we stumble into a lead and then chuck it away. Pardews record of only winning from behind once speaks for itself really. My point being when do we ever go out and actually give a team a beating really go for them by the throat and try to out play them.

I always find it funny how the Pardew defenders never discuss his actual tactics

That line up is Pardew's wet dream.

You can also tell he has a ego and thinks he's better than he is

When we finished 5th we brought in Cisse who buried everything he hit, who is going to do that this time? Do you seriously think we can finish 5th? No, i don't. I said before the season began the top 6 was sealed shut with quality sides and would take a special season from a club to break into that and i still can't really see anyone doing it. I predicted 8th and still think 8th is where we will finish. Irony is the people who won't be happy with 8th will be the people who predicted another relegation dog fight. All i wanted this season was us to steady the ship, stay clear of any relegation talk and have a good run in the cups. The cups has been another disaster but that's been the case long before Pardew arrived but it doesn't make it any easier to take. League wise i'm more than happy with how we are doing and don't see any reason why we can't keep pushing on even i do think the top 6 is unbreakable, but there's no harm in giving it a good go. 8th is par for me I'm not going to get excited about finishing there though.

I think sovereign state has been trumped lol

Doesn't graft and doesn't play the %'s so no chance just like HBA. Yet Shola, the laziest forward in history does. Amazing really. Pardew is a 4-4-2 long ball man Shola nicely slots into a role in his archaic system.

Yup he just reverts to lump it to Shola as soon as his 1-0 plan starts turning to shit.

Was disappointed not to see Bigi given a chance. But he went with experience but tactics were clearly not spot on as we couldn't control the match for long periods. Anita and Tiote were being overrun, Ben Arfa was dropping too deep when we had possession and Sissoko and Gouffran weren't stretching them enough. We got the goal then we should have killed the game off but it was just the same and both teams couldn't get control which was poor. I want to see replay but looked like Eliot had a shocker to beat from there and then we got done off a corner which you could see was coming and they are a massive threat from them. Overall was shocking by Pardew and some horrendous individual performances. Just another flat FA cup performance which we've seen all too often down the years and it's horrible. Fair enough. On Bigi I'm not much of a fan personally I don't see anything in him which leads me to believe he's got anything other than average. Gouff and Moussa have looked tired for a couple of games now which is partly down to the amount of work Pardew asks them to do imo.

Par for the course is par for the course. I've given Pardew credit for the good results but the issues which have been persistent throughout his tenure remain. He's a defensive manager with little to no ambition who undermines the club and it's supporters at every opportunity.
-
Knee jerks? Most of us anti Pardew folks have been regardless of the results.
-
SBR told us to dream, Pardew is the stuff of nightmares.

Yup. And this is why there is no incentive for our fringe players to even try.
