  1. Was a red for me. that 3 match ban is going to be the painful one though.
  2. It's actually quite shocking how a manager can make such poor fundamental decisions. I wish he was called to account and asked why he choose to start with Shola and then play Hatem on the left.
  3. He can get to the byline and cross it in for our goal machine Shola
  4. Nah, Sissoko is on the right Gouff is on the right. No, Sissoko is Saying that, Gouff is there too somehow TOTAL FOOTBALL The thought of Pardew trying to implement total football
  5. Nah, Sissoko is on the right Gouff is on the right. No, Sissoko is Saying that, Gouff is there too somehow
  6. I'd like to see Gouff given a chance through the middle personally.
  7. This looks like a 4-2-3-1 with Sissoko playing as the attacking midfielder to me.
  8. Sometimes and it's not usually through any sort of dominance or exciting football.
  9. Pardew has a habit of fighting fire with Shola to be fair. I'm sure Shola is starting today to help us defend set pieces.
  10. I don't think we need a target man personally. We just need a striker who can play more of a supporting role and look to create for a remy IMO.
  11. Considering we keep being told we won't win anything and we can't compete, can't we at least have a go at teams and play some exciting football? I really don't see the purpose of these shit selections and negative tactics when the club keeps telling us we actually have nothing to gain.
  12. Wheres brett and happyface? I'm sure they can counter our complaints
  13. Most talented player left on the bench again... Fuck off Pardew

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Should start every game when fit IMO.
  15. He lacked passing options against arsenal IMO. As some have pointed out when you only have Remy in front of you who is being double teamed by 2 strong cbs we need to be more expansive and provide him options to get the very best out of him
  16. He's very limited and players like him aren't a necessity in the game like they once were. That being said he's come on leaps and bounds from last season and I think that's down to him keeping it simple whilst in possession ans cutting out them holywood passes.
  17. Everton have shown that it is possible to be both solid and play exciting attacking football this season, and without major investment. Pardew as a rule has two ways of setting us up: a) against a bottom half team - try to score early then defend for your life a) against a top half team - defend for your life then try to score late It's working well for us this season, as it did when we finished 5th. It's also incredibly predictable, pretty dull and goes completely out the window when the other team score first (unless they have two men sent off). Can't quibble with recent results but it's certainly not how I think we should be playing. There's no long term place for any sort of flair in the team and that's not how NUFC should be imo. Absolutely. Spot. On. Couldn't agree more.
  18. Chelsea playing with lots of flair, brilliant to see
  19. Exactly he who dares wins and all that. After all we were playing at home. I think Liverpool's selection away at Chelsea now emphasis this
  20. Bit unfair. Pardew's approach to this game was essentially the same one he used against Chelsea - keep it tight and compact for the first half then go for the kill around the 60 minute mark. It was only really undone today by the one defensive lapse. No-one was complaining about the attacking intent on display at Chelsea; I think it's unfair to do the same for today's game. It's also a tactic I feel is fundamentally flawed. Why? Because when the other team score we revert to lumping it up to Shola? Spot on and why we nearly never come from behind, once or twice in 50 odds games tells the story like. We also hand the initiative to our opponents in the process. Especially this sort of tactic tells our own players we aren't good enough to compete with the other side.
