Arsenal fan at work is adamant that they can get £30m or so to Nketiah or someone like Palace. I’m not so sure.

They probably can to be fair, the big 6 FFP issues and ours aren’t really comparable because they have so much the new rules will further solidify that too.

if Spurs miss out on CL again how bad would that be for them? considering their massive stadium debt

hope it means they miss out on top targets which screws them for years to come

always preferred Villa getting 4th ahead of one of these wannabe ESL clubs

In terms of FFP totally fine. They have massive revenues and that sweet harry Kane FFP margin.

For spurs, the issue has generally been the owners don’t spend up to the limit iirc.

Tbf I thought there was a lot in there that was new, either because I've missed it or because it's new. I hadn't read the stuff about the different architects saying what might and might not be possible.

Oh, I’ve read all those quotes from those firms before, on here as well I’m sure. I commented not long ago that populous keep pitching for the job

That being said, fair play I’m glad you found it worthwhile.

Not read the story but going off the thumbnail 60K is nowhere near enough. Ticket prices will get silly.

The article is just everything that’s been discussed on here. Let’s see in a couple of weeks when the study is released.

Less years left on their contract and a player who wanted to move too tbf. Ithought Arsenal were up against the limits of ffp too?

They are meant to be but they have players who they can offload for decent fees ESR probably being the prime candidate.

Also the new FFP rules are great for Arsenal when they come in.

No one knows that's the case yet tbh. This feasibility study can't come quick enough.

Indeed it can’t, whatever is decided we will have a lot of unhappy people mind.

I personally don't consider option 4 to be in the 'stay at SJP' category, it would be the same site and 100% better than going somewhere else, but the existing stadium and the pitch are still key factors imo.

According to that article, 3 different architects have said expansion is definitely possible. Of course, pinch of salt, because they're not the only people involved, but my personal gut feeling is that Gallowgate expansion will be possible and that the East Stand could get a modest upgrade without impacting on the light that Leazes Terrace gets.

I wonder if the light issue would still exist if the club bought Leazes Terrace and turned it into a hotel. :hmm:

I think we know expansion is possible, it’s just expensive for what we get and doesn’t resolve issues regarding lack of facilities/ opening new revenue streams.

Might have been there looking at somebody else! Gallagher smokescreen!

Haha, personally I don’t think we will go for a Cm this summer, if we do though I’d imagine it’d because Bruno has gone.

  9. Chelsea are meant to want 50m for him, paying that for what would be a squad player would obviously be madness. Let’s focus on resources on area we are more in need of.

I think that the footballing profile of Gallagher is very similar to both Bruno and Sandro.
In terms of determination and leadership he’s probably equal to Bruno (can’t say yet for Sandro).

If we were losing one of those then Gallagher would be worth considering as a replacement.

Conor Gallagher could never replace what Bruno gives us.

You’re not wrong. Need that feasibility study to drop

For sure, I mean his piece is obviously a pre cursor to it and speculating regarding the outcome.

I hope they publish the study so we can all draw our own conclusions as well.

It is understood that Newcastle’s striker Alexander Isak is one of the primary targets. He could cost about £100m and was heavily scouted by Arsenal before his move to St James’ Park in August 2022 for an initial £63m.

100 million must be some sort of joke , he's worth at least double that and even then I wouldn't sell him.

It’s that time of year where the press pick random name and pick random number and put them in a sentence, I wouldn’t worry too much.

The BBC have an article on Evertons 777 takeover, they are fucked, money is owed everywhere and the solution is to borrow more from loads of different places, what a fuckin mess, relegation could be the finish for them, even if they stay up all of their best players will have to go.

This is obviously false, FFP is the great protector which stops clubs from going bust.

  14. I think we need to make a distinction here; FMV is only a thing for related party transactions, anything which isn’t related party would be deemed FMV by default.

So, although Fabinho was an overpay in my opinion, in actuality he went for his actual value which was what some mug was willing to pay.

For ASM, his transfer with obviously influence by FMV, but with that being said, we didn’t get any better offers.

Mainly happy for Isak's sake. Hope Wilson can come back and show he's still got it.

Me too, we need him to shine so can we cash in.

Coe in their pocket. City’s ground is world class and has had public funding. Nothing further required for Manchester, thanks.

Aye, giving Manchester another tax payer funded stadium has to be an absolute no go in the eyes of any government. It makes literally no sense and provides tax payers with zero value.
