  1. I wonder whether the delay is because the PL have found something dodgy on the current PIF chairman who was due to be the NUFC chairman/director, and PIF have had to appoint a new chairman who will pass the EPL test as a NUFC chairman/director. Just speculation on my part, but running the test again on the new director might explain the delay.
  2. Looks like PIF are buying Botafago football club. Could be a nursery club for NUFC to pick up the top Brazilian youngsters.
  3. I find it astonishing that people that resort to posting on social media actually think they have a reputation worth defending.
  4. In my limited view we all seem to be missing the reason for what we all perceive as human rights abuses in saudi, is their religion which requires medieval punishments, i.e removing hands for theft etc. Radically altering the punishments for transgressors would be tantamount to denying the validity of their religion. In that circumstance the religious leaders would almost certainly stir up the populace to oust the House of Saud which would then in all likelihood be replaced by even harder line rulers opposed to western influences. The western government view seems to me to be it's basically better devil you know!
  5. As I have previously suggested, the takeover will probably be announced once the lockdown has been lifted, so the Crown Prince, Staveley and the Reubens can be pictured standing in the centre circle of SJP wearing their black and white footy shirts.
  6. Ok so I'll start it off what I want to see when this takeover is completed. I would like to see the club build an academy campus with hotel style accommodation and state of the art education, training and rehabilitation facilities in order to attract the top young talent from around the world.
  7. Is it possible they are waiting for lockdown to be lifted before announcing takeover is complete. Maybe they want to be seen at SJP with the keys and a few bottles of bubbly?
  8. Haven't read this entire thread but I'm sure its been noted here that Rafa wins trophies whereas Poch still hasn't won anything despite getting substantial backing while at Spurs.
  9. If its poch, danny rose ain't going to be too keen on staying with us.
  10. Owning businesses that are making a loss means he can offset any profits from SD against those losses so he pays less tax on his profits.
  11. Prior to this takeover were the conscientious objectors really actively objecting to the saudi regime until the opportunity to do so was placed in their lap by Amnesty objecting.
  12. Surely the best way forward is to play the games at St George's and Wembley. Then with each club playing as many as three games a week it would see the season played out over 3 to 4 weeks. So the season could be over by mid june with the fa cup final played mid July. Put the start of next season back by one month. Gives the players time to have a holiday and return for pre season at the start of August. Then squeeze in a few midweek games to ensure the season ends the following may 2021. Sorted!!
  13. And now we have Human rights group Fair Square writing to the EPL asking them to disqualify PIF from owning an EPL football club. Is this nightmare ever going to end. Just issue a statement confirming the takeover is complete then these attention seekers can crawl back where they came from .
  14. How come Amnesty didn't write to that cruise line company objecting to PIF buying a stake in the company. PIF have invested in many diverse areas so why haven't Amnesty tried to block those investments. I'll tell you why. It's because they are too low profile. The EPL is high profile hence more publicity. Amnesty are not bothered whether PIF buy us they are just using this as a vehicle to raise their own profile and to embarrass the Saudi's. Ok so the EPL block this takeover. The PIF will probably takeover a low profile football club in France and there wont be a peep out of Amnesty because there is no publicity to be had there!!
  15. That last part is wrong, it's very easy to circumvent even with the technology they have. True. I have an app that allows me to watch all sports channels throughout the world as well as watching all the latest films before they are released to DVD. Obviously I don't do that because that would be illegal.
  16. BEin sport accuse SA of allowing a pirate station to broadcast sports in the Middle East, where BEin holds a monopoly. It may be that as the 80% owner of an EPL team, the Saudi's could be in pole position to buy the rights to broadcast the EPL matches in the Middle East, and that may be the real reason why BEin are trying to stop the takeover. Seems to me BEin Sports needs to invest in cutting edge technology, as the EPL has done, in order to curtail any piracy of their broadcasts. Its not like they cant afford the technology.
  17. If we are taken over by the Saudi's, I assume that, because of the TV deals and the subsequent TV money that we are entitled to, coupled to the added interest of owning an EPL team, the Saudi state will probably sign up to broadcast the EPL games, and as such, they will not want competition for viewing from a pirate station, so I imagine the pirate station problem will go away, hopefully without any breaches of their human rights. However, if Bein get their way, and the takeover is blocked, then there is no reason for the Saudi's to block the pirate station. Notwithstanding that, this really smacks of Richard Keys doing his utmost to get his revenge on the NUFC fans who troll him.
  18. What we don't want are these 30+ year olds where their only motivation for coming is to get one last big payday of Saudi money.
  19. I wonder whether Perez is regretting leaving NUFC now. Perhaps Sissoko will be instructing his agent to get him a move back to NUFC this summer.
  20. I'll say one thing in his defence. He did say he would only sell to buyers who could provide the club with the financial backing to take us to the next level. If this goes thru you cant argue that he has been true to his word on that score.
  21. It's got to be Allegri. 5 titles in a row with Juve speaks volumes.
  22. I completely agree with this .
  23. Probably because the Reubens were going to be involved in regenerating rundown areas of Newcastle, maybe even rebuilding the ground itself. They are property developers after all .
  24. And that is different to what SA are doing?
