I think prior to his injury i'd be between C and D. He was good backup when called upon and whilst he is limited in many ways he's a good defender. Based on the injury though I've gone with D. It'll affect him, and he's getting on in age too. Might even be an E at this point but that feels a bit harsh when he's not been on the pitch.

Oops. Have re-opened

Schar avoids the D and ends up with a C-. Next up we have potentially a trick one to rate in Jamaal Lascelles. When did he last play for us? A year ago?
-
This is pretty much it. We're at the point now where the "old guard" are on the decline. Your Trippiers, Schars, Wilsons, etc are reaching the ends of their careers. They're not overnight bad footballers but starting to become evident that they're not at the level of CL contenders no matter how well they might be coached. PSR is the obvious elephant in the room and I do wonder if this is why we've been very restrained the last couple of windows because we know a big refresh needs to happen.

Sven Botman earns our highest grade so far with a B. Next up we have Fabian Schar who for me is an interesting one. Even last season I think he was low key one of the better defenders in the league. Feels like we're seeing his decline at the moment, though perhaps not to the extent of some other players.

I don't get the controversy of the handball penalty. Did he blatantly stick his hand out and swipe at the ball "deliberately"? No. Did he do an unnecessary pirouette in the air which put his arm in the way of where a ball from distance was travelling? Absolutely. Handball is rarely "deliberate". The same way most fouls aren't "deliberate" but that doesn't make them not fouls. Your aren't allowed to handle the ball in football. As a player that means you have a certain responsibility to make sure you don't. If you want to start spinning in the air with your arms out and the ball hits them then that's on you.

After an early influx of Ds Trippier received a number of Cs giving him a final grade of C-. For maths nerds A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2, E = 1. Poll results then averaged which then map to a final grade. Anyway, next up we have Sven Botman. Potentially an interesting discussion given the injury problems he has faced...

There is no debacle! This is an efficient and clean operation!! I won't hear otherwise!!!
-
It's a new poll with reset votes!
-
That 1 in the poll question is quite annoying I can't work out how to get rid of it. I think it's a "question number" or something.
-
That's enough talking about Dubravka. He overall scores a D+ Next up is number 2 Kieran Trippier! I'm going to update the thread every morning so Dubravka got shafted a little bit there. Everyone else should have a full day
-
I didn't turn on the option to see who voted for what. I assume that A is @David Edgar
-
So to start up we have Dubravka. Probably the best of two less than ideal options I think is my straightforward analysis here. Feel free to post your thoughts and make sure to vote

So a while ago I did a ranking our squad thread where we all ranked our players. I thought it might be a more interesting idea if we did it player by player and put in a poll so everyone can vote and we can come up with some overall rankings. I'll keep this post updated with everyone's score and at the end we'll have a fully ranked squad from the brilliant minds of NO. I don't think i've made a poll before so hopefully this works Grade System A - World class. Could play for any team in the world. B - One of the best in their position. Would get game time for most teams but they're a level below the elite. C - Solid PL starter. A team consisting entirely of Cs should be comfortable in the PL but wouldn't challenge for the top places. D - PL squad filler. Everyone needs a squad. These are the players who can help with rotation and backup but you wouldn't want them starting too often. E - Not good enough either by virtue of general ability or being past their prime. Grades A Howe Isak A- Tonali Guimaraes B+ Burn B Botman Gordon Hall C+ Joelinton C Barnes Livramento Miley C- Trippier Schar Pope D+ Dubravka Murphy Willock D Targett Krafth Longstaff D- Osula E+ Lascelle E Wilson

I know why they've gone with it but that was about 5 minutes of highlights for the lead game
-
That's a penalty like
-
Quickly load replay. "That's onside m8. Award the goal". Done.
-
Thought Rashford did well there to be fair to him. Good instinctive response to the touch it took.
-
Good game of no importance for the neutral here.
-
Obviously that offside check gets quickly passed .
-
Would give their midfield some much needed energy at the very least.
-
How much would they have to offer Ashworth to get him back?
