We didn't crash out of the CL. We were in by far the hardest group and if not for a ridiculous last minute penalty decision against PSG things may well have been different. And on the injuries a couple of points. Firstly there was plenty of rotation and substitutions going on. Go look at our games last season before the injuries happened. Frequently using all 5 subs and rotating if players. This thing about him not rotating is a bit of a myth to me. He mainly stopped doing it when he didn't really have a choice. And secondly a number of the injuries were just freak ones that weren't really to do with game load. The sort that can happen any time and just so happened to occur at the worst possible time. That's not to say lessons won't have been learnt from that season, or that the increased load doesn't present a challenge. But I'm no way near as pessimistic about it, especially as after a few windows of pain I expect we should be able to strengthen.

He's only won 9 in a row. If we really want to kick on we should be looking for managers who routinely win 10 in a row.

When it was put to Amorim has he considered playing a system that suits the players he has and he said that would be a betrayal of his principals and they may as well get another manager in instead I think that told you everything you needed to know.

We looked good in Rafa's last half season here. European places good. If ever Ashley had any intentions of backing Rafa and the club then that was the time but of course we all know how that turned out.

Really don't know what to make of Murphy. Not long back I classed him as not even PL standard. And I still can't help but think that at times. Often when the ball gets to him you can just tell he's not on the same level as those around him. But then he keeps putting in the goals and assists and seems to have an almost telepathic connection with Isak. Really pleased it's working for him. As previously stated there's maybe an argument that his form means we can go for a younger RW to develop but my fear is if he doesn't keep this form up his shortcomings will be all too evident again.
