They honestly have a genuine fear of being somehow likened to nufc's fanbase and the deluded Geordie stereotype. Whilst I don't blame them to a degree, the feeling is so strong it's ultimately at the detriment to their football club. This is why owners come and go and take the piss unopposed.

    Pretty much Sunderland about everything...
  3. Fair question which nobody knows I guess other than buyers/Fatboy and PL. I thought they may want to include SA as a director(laughable to say really) so it made it far easier to fail, as I imagine there is something there which they could pin. Or it's just PL trying to muddy the waters and make it as awkward as possible because they know they can't fail it? We need answers!
  4. Depends on how much proof PIF have to separate themselves sufficiently from the state itself. Can't imagine it's a strong case but you never know, PL have to decide first before they could/would take any action. If they feel they have enough, then you can understand why they're miffed and don't feel like approaching the head of state to sit on a football clubs board

Saw a good analogy the other day. Just because people are starving in the world doesn’t mean you can’t feel hungry. No! You should be adhere to safcs strict moral guidelines and should never be unhappy because, you know, someone has it a lot worse. Of course they do, and their plights are terrible ( not safc, they roll over like a puppy waiting for a belly rub). But why should we not be fighting to better our club if that chance comes knocking? They've totally skirted over the fact that the organisation that should be bettering itself and its members allowed it to fall to rack and ruin without so much as a peep. As per they just want to win a pity party against us, everything is a battle against us. Even who can be the shittest it seems.
  6. Out of curiosity, possibly one for Greg maybe, my membership expired and can't seem to find a way to renew without re-registering?
  7. Think this was done to death, but because one is a prince and one was the government basically. But by the new OD test remit, you could argue he could bow to pressure from above as much as PIF if someone like MBS decided to.
  8. And it would've been, if PIF just done everything the PL asked of them and made the government a director so they could easily fail it. I don't see how this has a positive outcome unfortunately. They're not going to approve it considering the backlash, for the fear of looking even weaker than they do now. Who cares tbh? If the deal's dead might as well give the PL as many headaches as possible. Fuck them. Incidentally where are all those fans who didn't want the Saudi takeover? Seems now they've gone quiet about alternative US investors now that the danger of a Saudi takeover has passed. I mean Richard Keys has obviously tossed that angle and moved on - job done. But where do you go if you are a Newcastle fan? I mean I don't really care, even hearing stuff from Reubens/Newcastle racecourse or whatever barely musters anything. I'm just being real to myself in accepting it's probably fucked in its current makeup. I personally love the petty bombardment on Twitter etc. I think it hurts them a little more than some people like to think. They are reporting accounts for spamming (and having them banned) so yeah guess its getting to them. Can you do that on twitter like? Not something you could get overturned?

  11. He has very high-level contacts within the KSA regime (for obvious reasons). Also well connected in the City. I'd certainly take what he has to say seriously. I might have missed something but why does he have obvious high level connections within KSA? And in the city for that matter? Unless he me them at gamblers anonymous which I find unlikely I always just assume anything Penn says has some ulterior motive behind it and he's being facetious Is that polite for total cunt? Takes all sorts mate haha. Just wish people would elaborate more when they post on here. The sniping from both sides does get tiring and good points get lost in the tit for tat! Suppose I should practice what I preach and stop waffling tbh

  13. So it was more important to get numbers (and peoiples money) that to be honest with them about the Trusts intentions going forward? Looked that way at the time, and to see it confirmed is no surprise. Nope. We've been open and honest about the need to build the membership from day 1. The Trust doesn't run on magic beans and I can assure you if it was about money it would cost a lot more than £1 for a share and £1 a year for annual membership. We reduced the price so low because it's not about money - it's about making the Trust open and accessible to all. The money is safe - it's in the accounts - which get audited and filed as they have to. We've spent a little bit this last year or so but not much - on the work to fight the Strawberry Place developments for example but there's our finances are healthy, and safe, ready for when we need money to do things - like for example........now! Thanks for the response - my comments came from the reason I haven't joined, which was due to the fact the Trust gained lots of members at times of mass disillusionment, but is there to advocate on behalf of match-going fans, of which I feel there should be none. I hope the Trust can take a slightly more militant tone going forward. I'll watch developments with an eye open. P.s, Amanda Staveley is a member
  14. I may be wrong, but i just assumed the NUST would mobilise a credible push for answers more than anything else. What you have suggested is fantasy and I hope no one joins in that belief.
  15. Wait, didn't Edwards reply to someone's sarcastic tweet yesterday when they said would he report on him and his company if he says he's going to buy the club, much like Henry has. And Edwards said yes, if you deposit 350m into escrow to prove your funds, insinuating that is what Mauriss has done? And now he hasn't even produced proof of funds or started fuck all despite being interested since last year. Imagine people being pissed at AS for actually trying to buy our club(and sadly failing twice) and saying jot all about some fake counter offer from this joker.
  16. Yep, there's nothing major in it other than Alex Hurst has spoken with AS after introduction through caulkin. Says we the fans need to push PL for answers and the trust want to mobilise supporters to do so. Only thing I didn't like is they told us off for spamming PL
  17. Well done mate, you've already done more than 99.9% of journalists have done. Not a bad house like, wonder if he's gonna remortgage it to afford the takeover.
  18. Luke Edwards still prattling on. Can he just do his fucking job and go and find out exactly who mauriss is for a start? People are laying into him because as per he sticks a petty comment on the end of a normally valid point to provoke people. I'm honestly glad I'm not on Twitter or I'd probably be getting visits off the police
  19. It's not really a closed shop at all is it? It's a closed shop to people who pirate PL games from a broadcaster who pays millions to show the games 100% correct. If they didn't pirate the games and hurt the financial bottom line of the PL then of course they'd be allowed in. That being said they have handled this whole process very badly. People on here acting like it's a big conspiracy to hold Newcastle down is a bit embarassing imo. It is embarrassing. We don't even have the full story, just Staveley's version, which is inconsistent at best. "There was no issue with piracy, but we tried to sort it anyway" being one such strange line. They must have known from the outset they wouldn't get PL approval, with them pirating games on an industrial scale and having no will to do anything to help that situation. We need to question everything we are told, as Mark Douglas says: Yes, people who can should question everything. Problem is no one is doing that? So fans are being left to scrap the morsels of shit we've been told and form an opinion. Can only bash with the cock you've got unfortunately. I'm less annoyed about the deal collapsing, and more annoyed with the sheer amount of people telling us to get back in our box and rubbishing the potential new owners. Go and do some digging and come back with some real news.
  20. If he starts selling chlorinated chicken burgers on the concourses I'll literally be frothing at the gob Anyways, come on Henry get us bought.
  21. All we know is he's attributed to clear view, which looks a pile of shit. Surely to god someone knows about him somewhere if he is really packing.
  22. How does Edwards get away with yapping non stop about counter bid from Mauriss, known about it for months. To now, saying there will be no weekly updates and done in private in what is a thinly veiled jab at AS/RB/PIF's attempt?!? He's a fucking journalist, fans and media alike know fuck all about the bloke other than he sells some hooky satellite boxes and the CIA had an interest in his company I'm not asking for a weekly update on what he had for his lunch, but since you've known about him so long how about you do some digging Luke and enlighten us to his business background/wealth/vision for the club? Because all he knows is some random murican fuck of questionable wealth and questionable intentions has submitted a bid, why the fuck should I believe that?
  23. Can't believe they've posted the amafiltano video again after deleting it, and been lambasted again! Hilariously purile, keep going
  24. Exactly this. The PL are cunts who have bent their own rules to serve their own financial interests. But no amount of twitter protesting from NUFC fans is going to change things. The Saudi's could have changed things if they deescalated the situation with BeIn over the last few months, but they didn't and actually took steps to inflame it. Surely the last point is moot after your first? I wouldn't deny SA have came across idiotic in this, but how does that justify the bending of the PL's rules. We keep getting hung up on KSA doing mental shit but how does this tie in with PL's OD test?
  25. So yeah, they didn't fail the test when it was never gonna pass? I'd say that's a bit of a pisstake haha. They should've said no chance from the start and be done with it.
