I don't necessarily think the players have given up, they are still trying but have lost belief in the process, if that makes sense. If Eddie is continuing to drum his methods into them but they are collectively thinking ' but this isn't working anymore boss', there is only going to be more of the same decline. So the question is : rebuild with a different approach in mind, rebuild with a similar approach but with a younger, more suitable set of players, or turn to somebody else and refund the project with his ideas in mind.
